This is all so infuriating. They just refuse to let the party that won the majority of the vote govern when it's that party's turn. While it may be my knee-jerk reaction, I don't think a heavy-handed direct federal response is the answer.
I say, let them riot (in LA at least). That's what they voted for there. Let it play out, and as soon as it simmers down, send ICE right back in doing targeted raids. But send in bigger ICE units accompanied with large protective details of officers armed with non-lethal rounds. Get in, grab doportees, protective detail hammer anyone who gets in their way with non-lethal rounds, and get out quick. Retreat to nearest military base (not sure the legality of this), assess, and go from there.
Let them riot again, wait for it to simmer, and hit again. Rinse and repeat.

So when the last administration didn't help Trump supporters and areas affected by hurricanes that is ok? There are people in there areas that need help. Can't ignore them. There are still Americans there that did not vote for this.

Texas's (the university) motto is much more aptly applied to the state of California. What happens there changes the country. It's the largest market in the country by a mile so it dictates things that happen elsewhere in all aspects of life.

To clarify, by "While it may be my knee-jerk reaction, I don't think a heavy-handed direct federal response is the answer", I meant, while I'd love to see Marines go in a mow down all these a-holes with vehicles mounted 50 cal machine guns and get this situation right with overwhelming force, I know that's wrong for a number of reasons and doesn't bode well for the future of the country. I thought my recommended alternative was still pretty heavy handed, just less than what was going thru my head.
Again, my main point though was to NOT back down at this point.
This situation is a result of not shutting down the shenanigans being pulled by federal judges trying to block everything Trump's trying to do. It has emboldened the left to take the measures we're seeing now. I don't have a detailed plan to get all of this resolved, which is why I read here infinitely more than I post.
