It seems really interesting. But it appears that they don't release anything to the public. I admit to having zero knowledge of how weather forecasts and models are put together, but it seems like a field where there can always be improvements and advancements.

Weather forecasting has been using modeling and "machine learning" kind of approaches for a long time actually. Basically AI before the buzzword of calling anything with large learning models "AI".

The whole problem is that you need WAY more information than is available to us to make "ultra-precise" forecasts. Think about meteorology as one giant fluid model simulation. You need wind speed, pressure, temperature and moisture content measurements (I'm sure others too) for all of the air on earth to simulate what it will do going forward.

We have radar, weather balloons, ground stations, satellites, etc. But using AI to fill in the gaps and extrapolate from there is just that... extrapolation. Maybe it produces some insight but it's not like there's a large, low-hanging fruit to revolutionize here like in some industries.
