I pay the extra $2/month or whatever for windshield coverage for the car for exactly this reason.

Yeah, so do I. I figure driving around Houston it's a matter of when, not if I use that coverage.

Who offers this $2 monthly insurance for windshields? That sounds like a steal of a deal right now

We have progressive and I just pulled the number out of my ass, but it was relatively cheap. Definitely not what the guy paid through Tesla.

Another video for when people think Waymo is way ahead of Tesla:

Waymo is like a Chet and Tesla a Wemby.

Sure they kind of look the same and you can do well with either for the most part. But when you put them side by side and understand the difference, it is just glaringly different.

When things fall apart, just let wemby take over. Chet needs all the support to do well.

So I didn't get a Tesla, but I did get a Silverado EV Extended Range Trail Boss. So far I'm really enjoying it. Because it's so heavy the ride is phenomenal. It'll go through some nasty mud and because it's so quite it makes a great night hunting vehicle.

U.S. coast to coast drive from NY to CA without intervention has been completed multiple times. Three people are currently doing coast to coast in Canada. 3700 miles, ~95 miles from finishing.

Pretty big deal:

Expect to see these in Houston/Dallas shortly, now.

They already have 5 vehicles in Dallas and 6 vehicles in Houston running driverless rides and have had them for a month or so. Will probably see that expand some, but it's been my impression they aren't going to go expansive deployment until they've got a model that they're confident in for Cybercab. Just a guess, but October/Novmeber with the release of v15 would be my guess for mass scaling of Cybercabs in operation.

Saw a Cybercab on 290 in Houston yesterday.
