That's sweet. I wish I got the white seats, but with kids I was worried about spills.

I finally got a hitch installed and will be heading to spider mountain w/ a bike after the game Saturday. Pics incoming.

Yeah. Kids are 20 and 15 so that's not an issue. I have dogs but will probably get a dog set liner to put in if I ever take them in the car. I have a diesel truck so that's what they usually go in.

Hitch for a bike is a good idea. I may have to look into that.

I also bought this to protect the seats.

I did a 48 hour test drive over the weekend with a Model 3. FSD blew me away. Amazing on how much it's improved in the last couple of years.

I'd love a Model Y, but need at least 6 seats. Not willing to spend Model X prices.

The 2026 Chinese Model Y with 6 seats looks nice, but won't be in the US until 2027, or later.

The model Y had a 7 seat option up until the recent refresh and since it's available in China, it'll possibly come to our shores as well.

Nice, mine is white with black seats. I got it tinted, which I think it needed compared to the factory glass.

I've been thinking about tint. What did you get or would you recommend?

I'm not big on super dark tint, I went with something legal and relatively cheap since mine is a three year lease. No tint is too hot and the black helps the overall look imo with the black wheels and aero bits

I also recommend getting the windshield tinted. I had a little trouble finding a place that would do it supposedly because of the electronics on the dash, but I was able to find a place just by calling around and I'm very happy to have it done.

Wow. Just did my first supercharger. MInd blown.

All of the people *****ing about EVs and Teslas have no idea what they are talking about. Fast, easy.

So you aren't having leg pains from how difficult it is to use the throttle pedal?

Even if you are in a hurry, in most instances you can get from 10 or 20 percent to how far you need to go in a few minutes on a supercharger.

Mind still blown.

The superchargers are nice, but charging at home is nicer. In a little over a year, I've charged away from home maybe 4 times

The older ones charge slower, but my 2023 MYP charges at over 500 drive miles per hour and I have to hurry at Bucees if I'm dropping the kids at the pool while plugged in. You get charged if you leave it too long on idle after the charge completes.

Yeah, mine came a week early and the electrician was busy. Plus I wanted to try it out.

I will charge at home from here on out when I get it installed. Also the rate is $0.35 per kWh v. max $0.10 per kWh at home

let me ask you guy's opinion. My buddy, who has a Rivian, suggested that I put a standard 240v outlet in the garage so it is not Tesla specific for resale and/or if my GF gets an EV down the road. It will be on the center pole so either vehicle could use it.

I have a bay open in my "barn" so I may put the Tesla charger in there, although I will likely park in the garage at the house. .

I bought both the Tesla wall charger and the portable cable to have in the Tesla.

But the 240v Tesla charger looks super easy to install and/or change out down the road if needed. The main reason I need the electrician is to run the wire (difficult run). I am comfortable with electricity but don't usually mess with 240v.

tl;dr: Tesla wall charger or 240v plug?

From what I recall the difference is about 33 miles of range per hour (240v) vs. 42 or something like that for the Tesla wall charger. I could be wrong.

When I still had my M3P, my commute was roughly 80 miles round trip. I could charge every other evening to 80% though I would sometimes cut it close. I'd top off at the Katy Buc-ees supercharger if I had to.

I just use the mobile charger at home and no problem charging overnight. I set it to get to 80% at 7AM and it's never been below 80% when I leave, but I have to remember to tell it to start charging if I need a bump in the afternoon.

Same. I have used the same mobile charger for 5 years. And use it for both my Model 3 and my wife's Pacifica Hybrid.

I have the Tesla charger and have been pleased with it, but doing a 240v outlet instead makes sense to me if you plan on getting a different EV

I just have an adapter for my Tesla charger for my Pacifica PHEV. I use the Tesla Mobile Charger for both cars every day and the charger is plugged into a NEMA 6-50 plug.

I just use the mobile charger because it came with my car. It can run at any amperage you want. I usually just set it at 16 amps because that is enough to charge overnight. Only time I set it to take higher amps is when I have less time to charge. But I usually plug it in in the evening and don't need it until 7am, so there is plenty of time.

My very uneducated theory is using it at ~40-50% capacity might lengthen the life of the charger and the car battery. No reason to charge at full power if I have plenty of time. That charger can get really hot, too. Especially in Texas summers.

I believe it's got some ability to only charge certain cars so if you have it outside your neighbor can't use it while you're not home.

I use the same 240v outlet to backfeed my house w/ a generator when the hurricane or derecho knocks power out.

I've never heard anything remotely close to this before.

I have used my mobile charger away from home many times, though.

I assume they are talking about the Tesla Wall Connector Wall Connector | Tesla Support It has the ability to control who can use it.

I have one installed inside my garage and it works great. I have it connected to a dedicated 60 amp breaker and it adds roughly 45 miles of range per hour plugged in for my Model Y.

The wall connector has wifi connectivity where you can restrict access to charging and view charging stats.

Put in the Tesla Wall charger, easy to swith out later and most EV's will use the tesla style anyway. It gives you options in the App for charging.

Attack life, It's going to kill you anyway!
