Jamal George has entered the portal. No real surprise since he didn't find a full time roll with us. I'd imagine he'd be better off finding a team that needs a catcher. I don't think outfield suits him at this level. Best of luck Jamal!

There is a 3rd commit

Kendall posted on the premium transfer portal thread that Auburn is giving a higher rev share percentage for baseball than us and tu and its significantly more. They have been after the same recruits as us and have won out on some. I'd like to see those percentages per sec school. We should know as boosters what our AD is supporting in comparison to our competition and if it fits what we want to support.

I think it's an important subject that all boosters should know regardless if you can see premium or not. I don't bring info over but this seemed like a big deal.

Soneone posted the claimed percentages and I think womens basketball had a higher percentage than baseball.

He's supposed to be an infielder as well. His infield defense was better than his outfield defense, but not anything special from what I remember.

The issues with the clearinghouse are unknown. Can we still give enough nil to overcome lower rev share? I'm wondering if the players are risk adverse and prefer guaranteed money in rev share than going though a clearinghouse?

I mean rev share percentages by sec school. What is Auburn doing (and the rest)?

75% - Football
15% - MB
5% - WBB
5% - All others combined

This is the standard percentage almost everyone will use. It's the back pay percentage utilized in the settlement for 2016-2025.

He was in Austin today and is apparently going to Fayetteville tomorrow so if it's him it'd mean he didn't like what he heard in Austin or we made a hard sell enough for him to cancel the Arky visit. Definitely a possibility though! Would be a huge get.

Frankly I think it's silly to use that instesd of something more reflective of our actual interests and priorities.

I'm genuinely curious…. Why WBB over baseball? Do they get more tv production than baseball?

On average WBB makes considerably more than men's baseball in revenue. Their tourney being intertwined with the men's tourney, and on campus rounds (cost savings) means the sponsorships & TV revenue roll in.

Edit: the prior numbers I saw were revenue figures of about $1.9m for WBB and $1.3M for baseball. I'm guessing that's gross revenue and have no idea what the average gross loss figures are for the two programs. The article I linked below said every women's sport, except Nebraska volleyball, loses money.

I don't disagree. For me I'd give Baseball at least half the basketball money. And if it weren't for TV revenue sharing I'd just dump basketball all together.

Normally I'd agree with you but given how Bucky has hit the ground running, he seems like the most hungry coach to win here since Blair. If only Earley was that hungry last year, but it seemed more like laurel resting and a more insulated approach once everyone was bought with all the money in the world for it to be different.

Bucky on a budget already seems more engaging with the community in 2 months, so for now I'm bullish on him and I'm wait and see on Earley era.

Agreed. I can't imagine there are any true high profile players in the portal that want to come here a.) after seeing how many of our superstars regressed so badly this year and b.) knowing the odds are high we will be making a coaching change 11 months from now.

This was one of the many reasons that was pointed out several times on why to go another route now.

Most of these portal guys are only for a year. I don't think they care about 2027.
