I think LAPD will step up. They had a crazy night during BLM where they were weak up until that point, tons of vandalism, arson all over the city, then they closed down pretty hard after that. I think they learned they need to clamp down to avoid city wide looting and arson.

I'm very curious to see the role National Guard will potentially play. They were visible and kept the initial gathering away from federal building today. Now can't see where they are but last night feds stayed in the building then came out to disperse. For a brief period you could see there was a shooter on the 2nd floor of federal building with rifle on tripod observing the agitators

If they are allowed by their higher-ups. They didn't clamp down until it was clear the majority of the population there hated the looting/rioting/street closures and they were getting pushback to the point they thought it might hurt them in the elections. That's all they care about.

I'm still following along but admittedly not very close for now. I still think this is hyped all out of proportion to the actual events for the sake of drama and for the benefit of the few people on each side who are always drooling for civil war. But I don't think 99% of the country is even paying attention. Seems like a whole lot of nothing at least so far. All I've seen is a small handful of arrests, not "bodies lining the streets". I guess we'll see what happens overnight.
I was thinking the same thing. Unlike St. George Floyd (may his holiness be forever blessed), most people in the US have no idea this is even happening and the people that do are likely not going to be very supportive.

Tactically, this is terrifying regarding the blocked highway. The violence to this point is mild and isolated but when you have 25-50 LAPD down on the freeway to break it up but with hundreds of agitators above them on sides and bridges they are so incredibly vulnerable if this was to escalate

Two people, riding motorcycles, attempted to breach a skirmish line at Alameda and Temple. Two officers were injured after being hit by the motorcyclists. Both riders have been detained. Officers are being treated at the scene by medical personnel.
