I think Spark is the lowest of their brands, so hopefully a lower price point for those that choose to stay there. There will be the new Hampton Inn just two doors down, so it makes sense to rebrand the older hotel to a "less nice" option.

I'll set up a nice tent in the yard and supply cots and even let you use the restrooms in the house for $150/night.

When in doubt, buy a Whataburger inside and sleep in a back booth. Bring a blanket because it gets cold in there at night. You can use the napkin holder as a pillow.

Station 7 is supposed to have their grand opening Sept 11. That's what the chief said.

I didn't hear anything about a new station at the airport. Not sure if I saw it on any of the city budgets. Is TAMU building it?

It's got a TAMU building number and it's on university property at the airport so I would assume so.

I know that CSFD is now charging TAMU for fire service. Maybe they are going to start doing it themselves instead of paying CS a big check every year.

Hear me out…

New fire station takes over all fire and emergency response duties for airport and TAMU properties nearby

Fire station near the hangars and wind tunnel gets taken over by the Gate 12 people and becomes a nightclub/ice house called The Firehouse.

It's on the shuttle bus route. Require no driving and parking, only shuttle bus riders can frequent the club. Fewer chances of drunk driving

Live music out there won't bother anybody because it's a freaking airport.

This is a win-win

And there is my Cosmo Kramer idea for the day.

Does anyone know what is going into the shopping center at Texas and Southwest Parkway, next to Tru Fit? I think Stein Mart used to be there. It's looked like someone is doing work there for a few weeks.

I haven't stepped foot inside the Mall in at least 8 years. Probably 10 or 12.

But, when Malls make a comeback, the COCS is ready with leg warmers on!

Something is afoot at The Stafford. Musician Chris Crow and an old friend from work posted something about "getting the keys finally" and a logo for The Stafford 1911, coming/opening in August. I hope to find out more.
