Went to the Tecovas store in Waco this weekend to get my wife a pair of boots. Top notch service and their boots are about half the price of Lucchese. I think it will do well but I also have no idea how the Lucchese store is performing there.

And, if I remember correctly, the King Ranch store also sells boots.

Nah, boots are great! Perfect place for the right upscale crowd with the bougie hotels right there!
I'm more concerned about all the fried chicken restaurants when everyone wants a 24/7 Waffle House style diner! Like a Buc-ee's, but for breakfast foods & Texas sized waffles!
You mention Bucees and I've been wondering if there are plans for one in College Station. Seems like we certainly have the requisite traffic load on Hwy 6.
They build on interstates now.

i've been to it! great spot, although a bit "far" (relative for the town) from me. was just curious around opening date and if anyone knew if they expected to have a kids area as well
Zoen Ramen and Poke over by Tads has a banner up that they're opening soon. I drove by and could see chairs stacked on top of tables through the front door.

The idea is a hybrid inspired by two different concept styles from Europe as well as the East and West coast US.

The traffic count on Highway 6 doesn't match their other numbers like on Interstates. The one in Bastrop probably works because of that point where 95, 71, and 21 all meet.
I don't know the numbers they need but you can play around with looking at traffic count at a given point on Highway 6 and where their stores are at, you'll consistently see lower numbers here.

Good point. Never thought about the destination thing. Although I did commute to Houston for 2 years. College Station is a destination for most.

Or Houston to Waco, but then you have the Buc-ee's on 290 already.
Saw a bunch of people today gathered for a ribbon cutting at D&D Movers. New building perhaps? IDK.
Sprouts is actively being worked on but still looks to be at least three months away from opening. Probably open by year end if they can get all the hiring and permits done.

We will specialize in several varieties of pasta with several homemade sauces and preparations. To boot, we wil fresh bake daily from scratch Tuscan flatbread for signature sandwich combinations. We will do a specialty tiramisu cup made wirh the flatbread as well. Although not finalized, we are discussing a gelato bar.
The namesake derives from Cafe Eccell's top selling entree for 20 years, The Rosie. It's a roasted garlic rosemary tomato cream we made and will resurrect.
The model will be a QSR (quick service restaurant) with drive thru service. We intend to have catering/family meals to take an easy dinner home or book for any sized party or event.
We will be located next door to Blue Baker in the former Costa Vida space.
