Wasn't that closer to Texas?

There was a water tower close to the road and a car dealership under that water tower which was Charlies for a short period of time. IIRC water tower was where the bank is now and the dealership was where the middle of HEB parking lot is. I could be wrong though that was 3 decades and a billion whiskeys ago

I think I recall...El Chico?

I hate to toot my own horn, but...

You have a blog about random buildings?

Not random, they're all (mostly) former businesses with a bit of history behind them.

Lululemon has officially moved to their new, larger location in Century Square. They have a grand opening scheduled for Feb 21.

Cajun/Creole places have had it tough in this town. Hebert's tried. Crazy Cajun's (wow do I miss them) tried.

And Razoos.

Tad's issues are not being Cajun …..being inconsistent in their price point doesn't work. That location should be killing it.

Heberts had to close because they lost their parking lot location for their hut iirc. Or maybe the dad retired or something. It certainly was not due to bad food or lack of business.

The new location in Snook? Caldwell? … just didn't get enough business I believe.

Dang it now I want a pot roast sammich!

It was lack of business once they got forced out of the hut.

They shared a spot with CharlieMac inside Village Foods old location for a while. I was in there getting lunch one day and a long time Hebert's customer asked the owner how business was in the new location, and he said it was 1/3 of what it had been before at the hut.

It was sad to watch how all that went down. That hut would kill now with all the kids living over there and within very few steps to be able to reach the hut.

Gah! I forgot about that whole chapter. Have to admit I never ate there once the hut closed down. It's too bad they couldn't find another spot near campus or have a food truck.

They have gone downhill, even. IIRC correctly, the owners divorced.

Basically, we just need Pappadeaux's to fill the Cajun niche in town. M Beaux's proves you can do it, and they were a drive. Was always packed.

I kinda like Poche's. Does that not fit "Cajun"?

What I really want is a Seafood restaurant, like a Truluck's, Goode Co., or even Landry's seafood house. Not Cajun, not a Catfish place that has some seafood, but a real seafood place.

For the old timers, think Pelican's Wharf.

Any cajun place needs to be a authentic hole-in-the-wall place. Poche's, Razoos & Tads have crap quality. Look at place like Crazy Alan's Swampshak as an example of something that could work here. Good quality, fresh, reasonable price point, cold beer, simple live music patio.

This!! We need a great seafood restaurant in this town that has more than fried catfish and other fried seafood items. Fishdaddy's and Shipwreck just aren't very good IMO.

Goode Company would be bomb! It's a dream and is no way happening, but would be bomb.

It's not going to happen. BCS simply can't/wont support a *real* seafood restaurant. Hell people won't even buy fresh Gulf fish at HEB (I talk to the fishmongers a lot).

I thought they were prevented from adding gates by law. The consistent messaging has been redoing ticketing and TSA but no new gates.
