You are absolutely correct. With these wind predictions, downed trees and power lines could inhibit the ability to get to the airport and NO ONE would not want that at all....

There's storms starting to pop out west.

They might *might* stabilize the atmosphere a bit depending on what they do.

But that's about it.

concerned about widespread power outages, the wind storm in Houston last May took out some of the large transmission towers. No power in this heat….ugh.

PDS Severe Thunderstorm Watch for west of the metroplex issued, good until 11PM.

Gusts to 105mph possible. Basically, the equivalent to a cat2 hurricane.

Indicator for what could be rolling into the Metroplex, in the 10-2 AM window.

Do these storms firing up now help take some of the charge out atmosphere so that we're just waiting on the winds or does it not matter?

On top of that it's confusing for laypeople like me because when they say "it's not looking good", I can't tell if that means there's increasing confidence in a bad storm, or disappointment that it's looking like a bust. Usually the latter.

I have seen many of the more frequent posters put pictures of snow etc and they are frequently in apartment complexes.

It's taking some out. But keep in mind we can still have more cells pop up between now and 9pm that will go severe.

the atmosphere is extremely extremely unstable. Massive amount of fuel for storms to form and build. Just need a trigger (which the cold front is providing). This is a "throwing a match in a gas can" situation.

I still haven't even begun repairs for the tornado that hit my house on 4/30, at this point it's just pouring it on.

Had a really ****ty year so far and this dog **** DFW weather is the cherry ontop.
CNN is an enemy of the state and should be treated as such.
