OK Sociedad haven't won a game in nearly a month and clearly checked out after the red card, but we're also the team that has struggled to beat relegation fodder so still a surprising performance.
I'll take it; I'll go out on a limb and guess they are higher in La Liga than we are in PL.
I have nothing other than internet hearsay to prove this but the word on the street is that Dorgu told the ref it wasn't a penalty and that's why he waived it off.
There are no assumed wins for this team this year, so take the win, smile and move on.
Have to spare a kind word for Dorgu as well. He was ever present in the attacking third and that extra option caused a ton of problems. Can see what Amorim's system might be if he actually has proper wing backs playing his tactics.

Chelsea agreed to terms with Sporting on Geovany Quenda. The fee agreed is similar to what United was rumored to be offering in January but Chelsea won't get him till July 2026 as he'll stay at Sporting on loan till then.
I just read Bruno's post-game response to Keane's criticism and I can't think of a better response from a captain. He has often been ridiculed for his histrionics on the pitch as a poor excuse for a captain. And I get that. But only fair to also point out the ways he excels as a captain. That response was practically perfect.
Sounds like Ugarte, Maguire, and Mount will be available for Leicester though the latter will only play a few minutes at best. Mainoo "a few weeks" away.

Watching Heaven, he's making some positional mistakes but he big and strong enough to make up for them. His long legs help. He's very raw but I like what I see.
I was just about to praise Heaven (no pun intended). He's got good situational awareness for an 18 yr old that has started 2 senior games. He's very tidy on the ball. This kid appears to be a player. I would absolutely roll with him next season as part of the CB rotation. Great option for when Lisandro inevitably misses a portion of next season.
And Heaven goes down with what looks like a legitimately serious injury (after reading the game well and putting out a fire). We can't have nice things.

Heaven left the stadium in a walking boot...but fully walking. I'd be thrilled if he was back sometime before the end of the season but at this point, mostly just hoping he's fully fit and ready for the start of preseason.

Would you rather qualify for the Conference League or not?
The case for:
It would add to 25-26 revenue through prize money and gameday revenue. Prize money is actually not that much lower than the Europa League that United have apparently set as an assumption for budgeting purposes. (This season, United have made about 12m so far in EL prize money with a further 15m available if they win it; Chelsea have pocketed 8m from Conference League with a further 8m available if they win it). Could maybe field weakened teams and still find success in it.
The case against: Europe PSR is more strict than EPL PSR. Presumably United are not on track to break Europe PSR but not qualifying for any European football might be worth some limited financial flexibility this summer. Could be an unnecessary distraction and not worth the financial gain...roster might not be deep enough to field a weakened team and succeed in the tournament.
Realistically, it's unlikely for United to qualify for even the Conference League. But the international break has me daydreaming and it seems plausible that 8th place could get you a Conference League spot and United are only 5 teams and 8 points away from 8th.

no point in discussing. we are winning Europa and straight to the Champions League. Thank you very much.
Right. I think if we win Europa this year then simply win the Premier League and Champions League next year we should be ok financially.
