While I'd be hesitant to sign Framber, he seems like a prime "change of scenery" candidate to return to his more productive self.
Complete opposite actually. Most teams around the league are worried how he'll do adjusting to a new clubhouse, etc.
I don't blame them.
I'm serious when I say I would consider signing Maldonado as a catcher and bench coach and see if he can get Framber's head back together and keep him focused and pointed in the right direction.
There would need to be a massive come to Jesus meeting between Framber and the team, with Framber begging for forgiveness and the team would need to buy his level of remorsefulness.
Get Framber cheaper than his maximum value but get his max value as a player.
It doesn't have to be 6 years. Maybe 3. Prime Framber. He rehabs his image and still gets to hit FA later for a bigger pay day.
