He was trying to score. He got way too aggressive on something so shallow. The play is in front of him and goes out that far…

I thought maybe he went too far. Just saying that he really didn't; he just had a horrible read. When he saw **** coming in he needed to get back. Anyway, yes, terrible result. Just awful.

He definitely should not have gone half-way. He needed to go part-way and only far enough to know he could get back and he was way too far off being over-aggressive and his hope that it would be a hit overcame his baseball instincts. With Springer on deck, that was a tootblan for the ages

Yeah I hear ya. Maybe let me rephrase -- live I assumed he took off and it was much worse than it really was. He was too far, but not as egregiously as I was expecting. It was an all time terrible read for sure.
