I don't think a lack of Richard measuring has been our downfall.

As others have said, the Euros' preparation, attention to detail, and dedication to make sure they do all the little things is the bigger issue. Not sure Phil is the guy for that, if for no other reason it takes a lot of time that he wouldn't be able to dedicate to it. And I'd say the same about Tiger.

Pat finished 7th this year on LIV and after his RC theatrics in years prior deserves to be on the team every year until he clearly can't compete anymore. He was our Poulter. Does anyone seriously want Sam Burns or Harris English over him? (yes I know English made it on 'stats')

Pat is a cancer
He's only getting on another team without winning a major and getting in on points.

We can't talk about Europes culture and how they all seem to like playing together, then add a player that would be on the bottom end of the 12 in terms of talent that nobody wants to play with.

Reed's Ryder Cup reputation mainly comes from 2014, which is a long time ago. He last played in 2018 and went 1-2. And is generally despised by everyone. I don't think finishing 7th on LiV remotely overcomes the baggage he brings. We'll just have to agree to disagree.

All this talk about future captains and all, from what I've read it sounds like Furyk is the guy who is into the prep and data and all, why not him? Seems like a guy who would embrace and own it.

For assistants, maybe think way outside the box. Engineers from Titleist, etc. keep data on everything. Bring in one of the equipment manufacturer's data guys and with precise goals of where our advantages lie and how to maximize a course for it (for when it's at home).

Following the American loss, Reed gave an interview to The New York Times where he strongly voiced his frustrations.
He stated he felt "blindsided" and that "the issue's obviously with Jordan not wanting to play with me".
He also claimed that he had to suppress his ego during the post-tournament press conference, saying, "I was looking at [Jordan] like I was about to light the room up like Phil [Mickelson in 2014]".
Other unnamed sources close to the team reported that Reed had previously mocked Spieth by saying he had "carried" him in their past victories.

You're either being disingenuous or truly don't know that virtually everyone in professional golf can't stand that guy and want nothing to do with him (with going to the press to complain after the last Ryder Cup being the death knell for any future captain's picks). Under either scenario, there's no point arguing with you over it any more. Particularly since it's getting slightly interesting.
