I know the lack of RB and WR will annoy some people, and I understand, but I've really liked what they are doing in this draft. They are trusting their board and their process and not freaking out and reaching for need. They got three solid quality players so far.

I predict that 2-3 years from now, no fan will complain about the lack of skill positions taken in these first three picks.
I don't think people are upset with this draft. The picks have been great in terms of getting talent that will start/contribute right away.
I think people are upset because this draft reminded them of how piss poor the player acquisition has been for the past 2 seasons.

It's not just that…it's also over-paying in player trades with higher, valuable picks when the player in question could have been had for much less…

Most likely, but he had his surgery in October last year, so I would suspect he's available to help this team for a large portion of the season.

We will complain if we continue to be in the shadow of the Eagles and miss the playoffs again. While I think the guys we drafted definitely fill needs I don't think we put ourselves in a position to win more games. The guys we took filled losses but the big glaring gaps at RB and WR2 are still there.

I think my issue with the first pick is that we had a guy (Egbuka) that was equal in leadership and character qualities and filled a huge need.
I'm more than fine with our pick, but now we might have to reach for a WR next year and it very well could be a lesser talent or lesser quality guy.

I just don't like the idea of picking a receiver at 12 who pretty much unanimous consensus is will never be a #1 receiver. 12 is too high for a high floor low ceiling skill position player given you can virtually always get long term pro bowl caliber talent at the "less valuable" positions at that spot.

I agree. While I know the argument is "we already have a #1 WR", the issue is Egbuka projects as a slot. He's built as a middle of the field/out route/across the middle type. Which is what our current #1 WR is. If we were going to take a WR, it needs to be a stretch the field/take the top off the defense type. Either a speedster (golden) or a big bodied/jump ball type (Tet). Golden was there, so I can see being upset we didn't take him (from all reports he's a great guy/hard worker with no off field issues either). I just don't get why there are cowboys fans that wanted Egbuka at 12.

We have 7 left. They will probably trade into the 4th and use something from next year as well.
Ezeiruaku brings good length to the edge too. He's not the best run defender yet, but my guess is that he plays backup to Micah to begin.

If Dallas could somehow get Giddens or Sampson at RB and Jaylin lane at WR, I'd be over the moon with this draft.

I would have thought the cowboys could have used Cap money to get similar players as our second and third round picks and then been able to pick skill players in their stead.
As stated before, they are filling gaps where they could've got skill players.
