Well, so much for the pipe dream of the Cowboys actually going out to get talent. Adams to the Rams and Bolton resigns with the Chiefs.

I don't understand why they freed up all this money to just sit on the sidelines again.

It's what they do. Jones family won't get it until ATT is half empty on game day.

An active NFL Sunday, DK to the Steelers. And of course the only Cowboys news is them signing Markquise frkn Bell to an extension. So sick of this *****

Unfortunately the other half will just be filled with opponents' fans. Hell, it already is.

Deion gave an interview where he said Stephen Jones was vehemently against his signing back in 95. That Stephen and Jerry almost came to blows over it.

I had heard the story before but it just continuously reinforces what an albatross Stephen Jones is on this organization. Sure Jerry is ultimately responsible but by all accounts Stephen is the main obstacle to talent acquisition with the team.

I guess we'll wait and see what happens. I won't be too critical just yet, but the clock is ticking.

We need to use some of the money on our own guys (Osa was a must... I'd really like J-Lew back as well). But we need new blood, can't just field the same group of vets and expect different results.

Guys like Tank need to go so that young guys (Kneeland) can step up. Off the top of my head, we need immediate help via free agency at LB and WR#2. I'd also really like to address OG and DT as well. If we can do that in free agency, I feel really good about going into the draft and making the team better than '24.

I feel confident Jourdan Lewis will come back, and I hope we sign Gholston, but he might be too expensive.

They're going to have to pick and choose what they want (obviously), but I mean be selective. If they go after WR 2 (not sure that's even available imo), then they can't also spend money in other areas, thus they'll be priority in the draft.

The one area they absolutely need to add in FA is at LBer and corner. I don't care who it is, but they need a body or two.

Of course X would be down at the start of free agency.

If we don't land Jeanty, I am a huge fan of Hampton. I think he's an absolute stud.

It would be a dream if we could drop down in the 20's pick up an extra pick and grab Hampton. He's not making it to 44 so we can't wait.

I love Jeanty, Hampton, both Ohio State Rbs, the Arizona State kid and Iowa rb. If they bring back Dowdle they need to draft an RB that ran a sub 4.5 forty knowing full well they will likely have to either sign another big back or draft one in the 2026 draft. If they didnt have so many needs I would love to see them draft Judkins then draft Johnson from Iowa. That is a hell of a 1-2 punch of speed and power and they are cheap. I think Judkins is special.

Just beef up both lines. You gotta compete with the Eagles who are stout on both sides.

Skill players don't matter if you can't protect your QB or stop the run.

Again, it's early... But so help me if Dallas freed up a bunch of cap room only to let their quality players go and replace them with rejects or has beens.

So far, it's looking like the Cowboys are gonna completely F this thing up just like they did with the Mingo trade.

They love young cheap players or old cheap players with super stars mixed in. I really dont think Stephen and Jerry know what they are doing when it comes to free agency and talent acquisition.

Not getting Lewis back is a blow. I wonder if the Jags were just willing to pay more than he's probably worth. He's north of 30 after all. LBer and Corner are massive needs now.

Paying Jordan Lewis that much money is INSANE. He's barely in the top half of starting nickel corners in the league and already beyond the typical drop off age for corners.

Holy ****

NFL money is getting pretty insane across the league. The cap going up exponentially the past few years has left more than enough for average guys to get paid a lot more than they're worth.

I hate to lose Lewis, but I kind of understand this one.

He'll start the year 30 years old, and was getting 3 for 30. That's hard to swallow, in addition to Bland (last year of his contract) and Diggs.

I think this bascially came down to...'do we want Bland or Lewis over the next 3-4 years'.

Right so why should we believe it was going to be different this year. It's not. I only expect them to sign bargain basement players. My guess is they will give parsons a massive deal this summer and draft jeanty because he will push merch. Get ready to start hearing mazi looks amazing heading into camp but we all know he's not gonna do sh&t. I just hope the players make it through camp without a catastrophic injury.

Agree. I can't blame Dallas for not matching.

Some rumors floating that the Cowboys are interested in Dre Greenlaw and Charvarius Ward.

The Eagles have lost Milton Williams and Josh Sweat. They were projected to lose them, but that still hurts.

Yeah, Ward is a nice name at CB to add to the roster, but I've heard some people say he was part of SF decline last year. Not sure what happened over there, but like Dallas, they just didn't play good football. Both teams really underperformed compared to recent/prior years.

But I'd definitely sign him and hope that the change of scenery is good for him and his career. I'd be down for Greenlaw too. He's a solid LB.

Any chance SF wants to give us Fred Warner for cheap!?! (sarcasm).

Ward lost his 1 year old daughter in October to heart issues. Understandably it really wrecked him mentally and affected his performance on field. Poor guy has even come out and said he can't play in California because of the painful memory it brings up.

Oh wow! Yeah, the sports talk I was listening to, of course, didn't say anything about that. Yeah that's terrible, poor guy. Then yeah, that speaks to exactly what I said in my post... the guy needs a fresh start. New scenery, new faces, all of that.

And say what you want about the Cowboys, they treat their people like family and many/most of the players really do love playing for Jerry. Could be a great place for Ward and nice upgrade for Dallas.

Washington doing what you're supposed to do. Putting pieces around a good young QB on a rookie deal. Sucks to think they have competent ownership and management now.

It's going to be the same crap different year. The Cowboys will be linked to a lot of names but not sign the tier 1 targets and will say "We tried but the price wasn't right".

It's always the same with those guys.

gigem1223
How long do you want to ignore this user?
It's comical at this point. Every offseason the formula is the same. Wait as long as possible till the price tag is the highest, then re-sign your own and don't even look at other free agents. How does the most valuable sports franchise in the league continue to operate this way? So incompetent and frustrating for fans.
