Dak is getting $60m while Brock is getting $53m, you've got some funny math here.

That's my bad, I read the headline as 4 years not 5

So Purdy is making what Dak should be making had Jerry and Stephen not been too hungover to negotiate the 6 months prior to his contract season?

Hearing good things about Schotty and how he's going about things right now. Sounds like people think he's connecting with the players, the front office guys (like Will McClay), and the media.

I'm hearing people say the same thing we all said a few months ago... the Cowboys appeared to do a very poor job in how they went about their head coaching search... but that doesn't mean they didn't get the right guy for the job.

Y'all know I've got a Kool-Aid addiction... I'm gonna go grab get my Yeti, some crushed ice, and get ready for training camp!

Cool article. Lamb credits Cooper for his development. Lamb trying to do the same for Pickens for his intermediate game.

Yes, I agree! I will say that so far, seems like Schotty is doing/saying all the right things. Will that make a difference and actually lift the curse that has plagued this team for almost 30 years? Maybe not.

But I think he is a hard working players coach and is willing to hear outside opinions. I really liked his staff hires and think there are a good mix of personalities/schemes on the coaching staff. Major contrast from McCarthy who was stuck in his ways and refused to change things. Schotty might be in his 50s, but this is his first HC gig and I feel like he is treating it similar to how some young guys were when they got theirs (McVay, O'Connell, etc.) - work hard, make the players respect you, bring some creativity to the offense.

I'm ready to drink the koolaid and get hurt again.

Schotty has impressed so far and I agree the staff he put together is sneaky good.

The talent in the roster has improved, as well.

Let's not forget Schotts dad was the most successful loser of all time. Let's hope that DNA doesn't stick

The Lions just lost their Pro Bowl center to retirement at the age of 29.

I know that stings because we lost Frederick at a very similar point in his career. Not sure what Ragnow's issues are, but it sounds like he's jus starting to feel the wear and tear on his body and he's done.

He's had some significant neck and head stuff in the past I'm pretty sure.

RIP Tom Rafferty. Played center and guard for the Cowboys 1977 Super Bowl season.

Lived in our neighborhood in the 90s. Used to play tennis doubles with our group on Thursday nights.

Very nice guy.

If we actually have unused cap space, go sign Jaire Alexander.

I was thinking the same thing! Lately he's been an injury guy... which is why he got cut... which is why somebody like Dallas needs to give him a 1 year deal. Or give him one of those 2 year deals but one that we can get out of next year if we want.

The only reason you don't bring in a Vet like his is if it's forcing you to cut a young guy with promise. I don't think we have the problem here.

Don't think so either. Does Bland at nickel and then an outside corner group of Alexander, Diggs, and Revel have the biggest difference between ceiling and floor in the league?

What are the odds all four of them are healthy at the same time?

That group could have 6 pick sixes and 6 passing TDs allowed in the same game

Any word on if Micah will be attending minicamp or if he will be starting the hold-out process?

I still cannot believe that the Jones's did this again (like they did with Dak). If they never had any intention of trading the guy, then you sign him to an extension 1.5 years ago!!!! Damn Jerry and his "deadlines make deals" philosophy... not when you are dealing with franchise QBs or Top 10 NFL players. They hold all the cards when you wait. Idiot.

Yep. They always knew they were going to make him the highest paid non-QB when they signed him. The longer they go, the more it's going to be. Now, with TJ Watt holding out, who knows how long it will go. Micah might decide to wait and see what TJ does.

It's absolutely amazing to watch them make the same mistakes again and again and again

Yet they balked and signed Zeke during his holdout (with two years left on his deal!). The one contract everyone was screaming not to do.

There is absolutely no doubt the cowboys will give Micah what he wants.

Why not do it now so he's in camp with no distractions?

Jerry want that attention??
jr15aggie
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Because they are constantly chasing their tail. They never should have waited and they should have signed Micah to an extension going into his 4th year.

But they couldn't because in '23 & '24 they were too pre-occupied with deals for Dak & CD...... which would have been a non issue for Micah if they hadn't waited till the last minute to get those deals done.

Now they are stuck in a perpetual loop of waiting till the last minute to sign their super stars. And the agents are MORE than happy to wait because the price tag just keeps going up. Dumb.

Ramsey has had an interesting career. Feels like a guy whose original team (Jags) should have kept him around for years, but instead this will be his 4th team in 9 years.

Then again, Deion is considered the GOAT and he was on his way to his 3rd team (Dallas) in year 7.

Great skills but I imagine that personality wears thin with a locker room and a coaching staff fairly quickly

he's a cancer, but I guess the Steelers figure he will help immensely against the Bengals' two stud WRs, and they HAVE to beat the Bengals to make the playoffs.

NFL is a funny place. So they couldn't tolerate Pickens anymore but are willing to take a chance on Ramsey?

The Steelers run the ball and play defense. I think Ramsey is a lot less of headache than people assume plus he's a veteran that knows how to win and can immediately help Pitt win the division because he is an elite player. Pickens is not a veteran and not elite (still very good though) and I think needs some mentorship and the Steelers couldn't/wouldn't provide that so they flipped him.

The GM Shuffle podcast was discussing the Ramsey to Steelers move and made it sound like the Steelers wanted to move off of Fitzpatrick, that he might not have fully bought into the Steelers culture.

He'd been in Pittsburgh for the last 6 seasons. It took them that long to realize he wasn't fully bought in?

Turpin arrested in Allen on weed and unlawful weapon charge (both misdemeanors). I live in Allen...why would he come here of all places in DFW.

Well, he did just sign a contract extension which is precisely when most Cowboy players start getting arrested and/or start sucking at football
