Isn't the going rate like $5-10k/vial?

I wonder if it's really necessary or if the doc just needs a new boat

Why would a rattlesnake bite be "dry", indicating they struck, but didn't inject venom? Do these small-brained cold-blooded creatures "choose" not to inject? for instance instincts told them to save the venom for prey and just not waste it for defensive strikes? ...or is it just pure luck the victim pulled away fast enough where the fangs punctured flesh, but venom didn't get in?

Venom takes a long time to make, so adaptation would favor those who genetically don't inject venom for something they can't eat.

That's what I've heard. When I get bit (I'm sure it'll happen) and hopefully it's just a copperhead, I'm gonna ride that out with a few strong beers and Johnny Football highlights on youtube. No way a copperhead bite should cost 5 figures. Rattlesnake maybe, but I'm skeptical.
