I think AI is making these ID apps worse and worse lately. AI hallucinates such incredible BS about things due to just averaging and regurgitating the cesspool of misinformation that is the modern internet.

The seek app told me mine yesterday was a racer… but since I cut him down a few feet from a pond I thought maybe YB or PBWS… turns out it was a rat snake.

I've found the AI identification is almost always wrong on snakes but pretty accurate on plants.

In that first pic, only my heel is down. The Texas rat was trying his best to use his tail to pull his head out of my grip by way of wrapping around my ankle and foot. I humored the bold effort.
