Not going to dispute a hognose ID with you. I agree in the tail not being right for a hognose and more like a water snake.
Agree. it also has heavily keeled scales that would suggest water snake as well with a blotched pattern thats really hard to decipher.zooguy96 said:

Male hognoses have longer tails, but not that long. And their tail from their vent is markedly skinnier than their body. Females have short tails.
That tail screams water snake.
