I'm glad I wasn't singled out. It was good but still just a basic CFS. What part of it is supposed to have pistachios in it?

The flour certainly wasn't ground up pistachios.

There's a real dearth of fast-food style tacos in this town. Not "authentic" taco-truck style/gas station tacos, the guilty pleasure fast food style tacos...but other than Jack in the Box and Taco Bell (eight locations locally) there's nothing to really sate those cravings.

Pepe's when it executes well works, but it rarely executes well and more often than not has been a consistent disappointment. Taco Bueno tends to open stores and then closes them within five years, while Del Taco tried to make a big comeback in Texas in the early 2010s but closed their stores within a few years, and never here. (The comeback version, that is.)

Taco Casa?

Growing up in Yankeelandia those were the only kinds I ever saw. I don't care if I never see one again.

I really don't see the problem here. You are being forced to eat good tacos because there aren't enough crappy ones?

OK, so "and Taco Casa". But there's only one, and they closed their CS location (not that it was close to me). Guess it's back to Taco Bell again.

Aren't some of Torchy's "secret menu" tacos on the old crunchy shells? I try to avoid those because I'm not a fat, but I remember at least one had the old school crunchy shells.

The closed Taco Casa in SoCo will be the new location for La Familia starting Nov 1st(Barron and 6 location is moving.). And there is still a Taco Casa on Hwy 6 near Briarcrest.

We never understood the obsession with Taco Bueno when our daughter would come home from school, until we moved down here and did not have one. Now when we go back to the Dallas area to visit her/SIL, we make a point to eat there when we have the opportunity.

The flour certainly wasn't ground up pistachios.

"Pistachios crusted" implies the breading but I agree that it does not taste like pistachios.
