Not a "restaurant", but I'll use the term "restaurant adjacent"... Texas Grill Supply on Welsh is a really neat store. I stopped by there the other day to look at Big Green Egg stuff. Lots of high quality inventory. Owner was extremely nice and helpful.

Kinda weird hours though. Looks like 12-5pm most days.

Went to Bubba's 33 again this week. Don't think that we will go back. There is nothing special about it IMO.

Burger was just okay. Fries were cold again. We got the appetizer with the pickle chips, cheese sticks and boneless wings. Pickle chips took up half the plate and were very salty. I think 5 cheese sticks and maybe 6 wings.

They will do well on gamedays and with the sports crowds in town for tournaments.

We went to Bubba's 33 for lunch. This week

The Monte Cristo was good. My wife and kiddo had a small pizza. It was good as well. Definitely not a spot for any kind of conversation. We will probably be back, but at a slower time.

It's cool we got a Bubba's. It's something new for us. ...but like almost everything else that comes in, it is just a chain restaurant after all... owned by Texas Roadhouse, which is based out of Kentucky.

It's Roadhouse without the larger steak selection and 80s music instead of country.

it's good for the concept they wanted it to be. more music and sports, burgers and beers than their steakhouse concept. it's fine. it's great we have one in CS now, though I fear the crowd and wait times will persist for quite a while still. people just can't let their expectations get too high. (although fries should never come out cold, anywhere)

Tried to go to Gringo's on a Thursday at 6:15 (in the summer even!) and over 45 minute estimate for a party of 3. Went to Maria Mia's instead and almost nobody there. Had great crawfish enchiladas as usual although my wife said her verdes enchiladas were a bit cool.

I personally don't get the Gringo's love but I'm glad they are doing well.

I want to go to Maria Mia's more but it's just too dang loud for the kids.

I loved the original Gringo's but I'm not waiting in line now.

Gringo's is all about the atmosphere. The food / drinks are average.

I was at Gringos at that time too. I didn't get on the waitlist before heading there and was surprised at the crowd after driving by the Saltgrass and Walk-Ons parking lots that didn't look busy.

It was just my husband and me, so we walked past the busy waiting area and host stand and ate at the bar.

When it's just my wife and I, we usually eat at the bar. And I disagree about their food - I think their fajitas are pretty dang good. When we are with a crowd though, we always get on the list ahead of time and then you can time your arrival to not wait too long. The only time that has not worked out was one time when we had a party of 9 or 10, and they just don't have that many big tables. And, big tables tend to sit around and talk after they are done eating, so we eventually walked next door to Saltgrass after waiting an hour later than we originally thought it would be.

Don Chente Mexican Seafood is in the same area as Gringos. Wonder if that will help out on the crowds once it opens.

If they ever open! I heard end of summer from a server from the Villa Maria location.

Tried La Bougainvillea today. Holy crap that place is good.

Only open from 9:30-2 p.m. six days a week but if you like empanadas, meat pastelitos, etc. -- this is your spot. Impressive array of desserts too.

New contender for my favorite wings in town - Angry Elephant.

Had them triple fried and tossed in tajin. Very good. I don't think that's on the menu but had seen an associate of mine order them like that before.

Haven't had them tossed in tajin (I don't even know what that is) but I concur overall. I went to Wings 'n More yesterday off Deacon because I had time to kill and I think it was the first time I've ever been there and not gotten wings and all I was thinking about was Angry Elephant triple fried wings that I was enlightened to courtesy of this thread.

It's pretty amazing how great their entire menu is overall for "bar food". I stopped in there last Sunday on my way home at 4 pm and noticed their brunch section.

Ended up getting a skillet and even that was very good.

No, it's the owner from Renegade Kitchen. They rebranded and changed the focus of the space about a year or so ago.

La Bougainvillea has interactive cooking classes sometimes, too! We went to one a few months ago where we got to make (most of) our own dinner with other couples.

A big shout out for Maddens. Finally got by there for lunch and I would be hard pressed to name somewhere else in town serving that level of quality at such reasonable prices. Excellent fresh food for 2, $30 including tip.

La Bougainvillea. I see potential if local chefs/cooks hosted a dinner night. Charge per plate. Keep Facebook and website current so people could see calendar of events.

Zake's Noodle House. Got a pork banh mie. Bread super dry and roughly two ounces, max, of filling. Sandwich felt weirdly light when I picked it up which should have been the clue.

Should have asked the board for a banh mie recc. Oh well.
