It would be fantastic if the standings as of today were the final result.

We get one if the play-ins (who don't look good), GS and LA eliminate one of themselves, and Denver and Memphis do as well.

My prediction would be us playing GS in the second round while Denver took on OKC.

I think the League will do everything they can to prevent a 1st round LA vs Golden State. But I am not sure that GSW vs Denver is great for GSW, either.

2 games, but really 3 because of the tie-breaker lead on Denver with 6 games to go. 77% chance of #2 seed

Going after season win #50 tonight. First time at 50 wins since 53-29 in 2018-2019, the end of a run where they won 53+ 6 times in 7 years.

if the Grizzly keep losing, they're going to be in the play-in tournament. They're down to 44-32, tied with the T-Wolves for 6/7, with the Clippers only 1/2 game behind. If the Rockets could stumble into a first-round matchup against a Memphis team that has just about given up, I would not be unhappy.

Grizzlies were 31-15 on January 25th after winning 6 straight. They've gone 13-17 since then.

San Antonio reverse tanks and shocks the Nuggets last night.

Rockets now up 3 games on #3 LA Lakers and #4 Denver with 5 games to go

The entire playoff picture has flipped in the last week other than OKC

1 OKC
2 Houston 50-27
3 Lakers 46-29
4 Nuggets 47-30
5 Golden State 44-31
6 Minnesota 44-32
7 Clippers 44-32
8 Memphis 44-32

9 Dallas 38-39
10 Sactown 36-40

At this point, I wouldn't discount Dallas taking the #8 seed if they get a game with the Memphis freefall.

Regular season ends April 8.
This will be the first time I've given a spit about the play-in tournament
Playoffs start April 19

A follow-up, unreal that the team has made it to 50 wins.

Only 4 50 win teams in the league right now - Boston, Cleveland, Houston, OKC.

No way Rockets or Cavs were on that preseason list.

I'm sure Cavs' coach is COY with at least a 13-game improvement and their most wins since Bronny was there in 2009 (66-16) but wow what an effort.

Next 5 are brutal. We easily have the most difficult schedule compared to all of our competitors. I wouldn't be surprised to see us slip to third or fourth by the end of next week.

I don't think most of us believe that the rockets are going to win a championship this year. The best outcome on our end, is an opportunity to see how our young players respond to the playoff atmosphere. In my opinion, that starts tonight. Romping the Jazz was incredibly fun, but ultimately meaningless. We'll learn a lot about our team, and its future, by how they respond to real pressure, which starts tonight.

5 games against West playoff teams in a row should tell us exactly where we are, especially with every team effectively playing with "playoff level focus" already.

If we can just find a way to win 2 of 5 I think we will finish 2nd and get a favorable playoff draw.


Tonight is big because it's a home game, and it's the only one where the opponent has nothing to gain at all.

No reason to think it will happen but it would be great if OKC decided to sit SGA for some rest tonight.

What a fun win. Let's see if we can grab a game or two on the road against other playoff comp and lock up the 2 seed before coming home against Denver.
