Yes.

People get all horned up about scoring, but the world is full of me-first guys that can score buckets. Bottom line is that the rockets have been great at figuring out which of those guys can learn to have a team-first attitude and which cannot.

When The rockets deem a talent that big not worthy of being patient with, I'm sure it scares away all but rebuilding teams.

I do think Whitmore will be an effective volume scorer for a 30-win wizards team, but I don't think he was ever going to help the Rockets win a championship.

It's too bad that he couldn't be patient and embrace the role he could've had while he developed, and learned how to be a more well-rounded player, but a young dude being sour about not getting the minutes when he has not proven he deserves them is not something a championship-hopeful team needs.

Cam was never going to reach his full potential with the Rockets. Despite the fact that he dropped massively in the draft, you never got the impression that he took a long look in the mirror to evaluate himself.

Despite being an athletic freak he shows little interest in being a high level defender. He is also wildly inconsistent, sometimes blowing break away dunks or completely missing the rim on uncontested 3s. Despite this, when he does have a good outing he acts like the team is keeping him down by not making him the focal point. He seems to have no interest in his teammates at all...this includes passing or working off another player. He seems generally happy to be isolated from others, which won't work in a team sport unless you are truly special player...which at the moment he is not.

At the moment, his ceiling is a change of pace bench player. I don't think he can reach a higher level than that until the wizards eventually bench or trade him, which should jump start that necessary look in the mirror.

Damn, Norman Powell would have been a nice get as a 3 point shooting 2 guard.

Non-Guaranteed for the final two years should make everyone feel much better about his deal.

I was skeptical of Stone but he is on a heater.

I agree but we benched him plenty after he'd "ole" something on defense or get lost or not pass and all he ever did was get sour. Maybe with age and maturity he'll reach a point where he can reflect and learn but I've seen none of that so far which is disappointing because I really wanted him to work out. If he had worked out, because he dropped so far we could have gotten a really good extension with him the same we did with Sengun.

But with what he showed I'm happy to move on. I hope he figures it out.

Yall are gonna be on the hook for so much when you trade Durant and the Phoenix picks for him next summer.

Seriously.. for Booker with the rest of our roster minus Durant and picks. Do it yesterday and again today and tomorrow for a 3rd time if possible.

Reed looked good in summer ball. I know it's summer ball but maybe he is getting comfortable

He definitely looked at cut above every other player on the floor

I watched some of Reed yesterday and it wasn't great.

Detroit really bothered him defensively with their physicality and pressure. Would have liked to see him running more offensive sets, PnR, etc. The rest of the team is trash though so it's a lot of iso ball and Reed was forcing things at times.

Defensively I was pretty disappointed. His hands are quick and he has good anticipation, but he was cheating for steals and often out of position as a result. He wasn't as physical as I would have liked on the ball, and was pretty easily getting screened. Off the ball, he was losing his man regularly.

Just my uninformed thoughts. It was only one game, I'm just probably not buying a huge second year leap after seeing it. Sounds like he is being shut down for the rest of summer so all we can do is speculate until preseason.

I'm thinking he was taking up hero ball too much with how much he was able to control the last game and all the steals he got. Probably not good for him to get used to.

I've lowered all my expectations for Reed. He lacks a bit of the F U that is necessary to be a NBA player. He just seems like a really nice kid and is just happy to be there (kind of like Jalen his first few years). He hit his first 3 in his second game and broke into a bit of trash talking...then proceeded to miss all of his attempts from 3. I'm not sure he is wired to handle the NBA... It feels like throwing an 8 year old into the heart of Chicago gang land.

He's going to get hunted on defense his whole career, so we're going to have to try to hide him on D, he'll try to jump steals, and hopefully make up for it with his shooting on the other end.

In essence ideally a very poor man's Steph.

I can see a little bit better shooting TJ McConnell in his future.

My question is…if we think he's always going to struggle on defense…would you consider trading him for a Cam Thomas? Neither can play defense, but Cam Thomas would give you a legit scoring threat off the bench.

Definitely didn't see that one coming. He basically fills the same role as Tate. Seems a bit redundant, but he could be nice insurance piece at the end of our bench.

I would think he's much more valuable than Tate. Okogie is an absolute dog on defense and has been lauded for what he's done to guys like Harden over the years. This is the guy you throw on Harden and SGA in the playoffs and frustrate the hell out of them. He's basically a Dort before Dort learned how to shoot 3's.
