He wasn't extended for the max. You get the feeling we sort of had to pay/extend him from a GM perspective since we haven't hit on any of the high draft picks we earned for tanking.

Amen is a huge win.
We didn't lose because of officiating. We lost because we shot like **** and let their only 2 stars beat us. However, playoff basketball has reminded me why the NBA has become such a painful watch. The officiating is horrid. It makes it unwatchable at times and there's zero accountability. They don't care how biased it is or how it affects outcomes of games. There's so many easy ways to fix it, but when the league doesn't give a **** you get what you get.
Only lost by 10 while shooting 6/29 from 3, we will be ok

Jalen will never be a max contract guy. He is who he is at this point. Not a bust, but also not a star.

Immensely fun player but not an All Star who can score at will. He's a valuable piece best paired with stars he can complement with his defensive prowess and athleticism.
Almost every team we could face in the playoffs will have players better than our best despite our having four top four picks (2, 3, 4, 3) in the last four years - none of which you could say are even likely to become all-stars here.
Sengun was a good pick at 16 who plays above his draft slot and innate athletic ability, so it's not all terrible from the GM perspective. This was more of a happy extend/pay even if not an answer to other playoff teams' top talent.
We play hard, work on D, and the players are largely likable. Regular season results were good. But there's a reason we were going to be underdogs to everyone we could face in the playoffs notwithstanding being the 2nd seed and it's because their best players are better than our best.
Hopefully we play above our heads the rest of the series and someone throws this in my face.
Would've been favored over Memphis, which makes that play in game infuriate me even more.
Being at that game last night and watching Curry do Curry things caused my PTSD to flare up. That franchise has absolutely owned us for a decade.
Rockets looked like Ogre fighting Chong Li in Bloodsport last night. Got up 7-0 and figured the game was over. Welcome to the playoffs.

I watched the first half which was about as ugly of a basketball game as I've seen in years. Warriors looked like they were just off, but the Rockets offense looked completely inept. Like a 10 year old playing 2K - just run into the lane with a bunch of contact and hit the shoot button and wonder why it doesn't go in.
I know that Ime is a great defensive coach, but I can't imagine our offense is THAT bad. Just a case of the young guys not ready for the physical step up in the playoffs? I know the regular season and playoffs are essentially completely different games.
No, that's our offense. Jalen Green gets hot on occasion and we put up points on his prayers.
I never could get the game last night on Max. Kept telling me I didn't have the right subscription, even though I could see everything else - I mean, gotta see the Gemstones, right?

All the sports on Max used to be available with their Basic with Ads level subscription. I think their original plan was to offer it for just the 2024 NCAA tournament, but they kept it like that for a year, and after this year's NCAA tournament, they moved (most of) their sports content to their Standard level. It's nice to not have ads, but it's an extra $10-14 per month.

Curry is inhuman when he's allowed to play his game. You have to disrupt that. If it means Dylan Brooks needs to hard foul him so he hits the deck hard, so be it. You want him subconsciously wondering if he's going to land clean on every shot. The absolute last thing you do is guard him straight up and let him hit a couple of early prayers that get the juices flowing.
All week all we heard was how Draymond was going to do Draymond things and the Rockets have to keep their cool. Well we kept our cool. And it led to us letting the Warriors dictate the physicality. That can't happen again. We have to come out in game 2 and make it known that the game is going to be sloppy but it's not going to feel good for the Warriors.
It would also help if we stopped the stupid passes that only work against terrible defensive teams. Also, hitting shots is a good strategy. We could try that as well.

I think we have another bad game on offense unless Jabari puts up big numbers. When the warriors trap Fred (too small) and Jalen (too loose with the ball) our offense falls apart. We need someone to hit shots from the wings/corners to free up our ballhandlers. Jabari is a walking mismatch, especially when he plays as a 3 or 5. If he takes and makes a large number of shots we are a very dangerous team, If he is invisible we are toast.
