Since yall probably arent watching the draft: Ace Bailey refused to work out for Utah and told them not to draft him.

Brooklyn must have a drunk monkey at wheel right now...3 euro guards that all do the same thing!
And then a point center/forward...I wonder if they know basketball is played with only a single ball?
Nothing says NBA success more than the Nets and the Wizards.Guitarsoup said:
He was trying to force his way to Washington at 6 or Brooklyn at 8.
I've had a theory that KD has had a me vs the NBA mindset ever since he arrived in OKC. Durant has been in the NBA long enough to have been drafted by the Supersonics. I think he was happy in Seattle and wasn't keen on moving even if the wheels were in motion before he got drafted. I think they were sold to Clay Bennett the year before Durant was drafted. I don't think he had good faith negotiations with Seattle when they were supposedly looking for funding a new arena after his purchase. His plan was always to move the team to OKC, which is his right as the owner, I don't begrudge him for that but I think Durant has had an axe to grind with the entire league since then. Similar to when Stan Kroenke became a partial and then full owner of the Rams, he never intended to keep the team in STL, he always planned on moving to LA. It actually makes me appreciate Durant a bit more, I like a player with a me vs the league mindset.Jackal99 said:Iambob said:

I don't speak 'gram, but my guess is KD is pissed off at somebody and is going to be just petty enough to be entertaining to watch in Houston.
Feels like FVV signing that extension means Stone already has something tangible close at hand, which also doesn't include him being traded to another team because of the discount.CFTXAG10 said:Houston Offseason

*⃣Significant flexibility below both aprons
*⃣Could have access to the $14.1M non-tax ML (using more than $5.7M hard caps them at the 1st apron)
*⃣VanVleet gets his $44.9M team option +$5M but spread over 2 years
*⃣Player option gives FVL the ability to become… pic.twitter.com/NEzvj2h82KBecause Fred VanVleet is knocking somewhere around $20M off his salary for this season, Houston should now have access to the full NTMLE at $14.1M.

That has real spending power this summer, given the lack of cap space around the league.
Good offseason so far in Houston!
If you sign a contract extension that goes up too much for the following year (usually a rookie extension) then for trade purposes it is really weird.Texaggie7nine said:
I really am clueless when it comes to NBA draft and contracts. WTF is a poison pill?
Different thing entirely and those contracts aren't allowed anymore. Lin and Asik both got 3y deals with a ballon year in the 3rd year.AG@RICE said:
The poison pill was initially made famous by Darryl Morey when he was our GM. He signed Lin and Asik, who we were trying to lure as restricted free agents, to contracts that greatly escalated. This kept their original teams from matching the salary due to future cap limitations, thus termed the poison pill.
The strategy would eventually bite him in the ass when he couldn't really trade either guy down the road because of the size of their contracts.
Ace Bailey’s agent declined to comment on his future in Utah. 👀

He said he only wanted to play for the Wizards or Nets and apparently told the Jazz not to take him because he wouldn't show up.Iambob said:
Why is he so against playing in Utah?
