At first I was a bit meh on the deal just because of Durant's age but the more I look at it the more I like it. What's the biggest asset that was given up...the 10th pick which was theirs to begin with? Brooks? a bunch of second round picks? It's not the agent of chaos Jalen Green and his contract, I don't even know how they were able to package him as a part of this deal. Any decent GM would have demanded at a minimum Eason or Whitmore. Look at what Orlando gave up for Desmond Bane, feels like a robbery. This also frees up minutes for guys that Green was keeping off the court.

Sounds like they finally understood that Kevin was going to veto trades to other teams and settled for less.

could just be PR talk, but a non-max extension would net us cash at least in the next couple of years compared to Jalen/Brooks. Seems like KD could be a team player.

If you watch the documentary about the Paris Olympic team, you see a different side of KD. He does care about winning and legacy more than most.

Also important to know - our existing young players very much excited about him joining this team. They wanted him more than Jimmy or anyone else.

Rumors are we are trying to trade back into the draft.

I bet Stone had actually talked himself into many prospects in this draft before the KD price dropped so much he had to pull the trigger.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him dump a future first or a pick swap to get into the 20s in this draft.

Could also be our strategy to drive up the price for OKC who's trying to trade into draft too

That was huge! For the money we will pay Fred we are getting tremendous value.

I'm not 100% certain we will use the MLE. We could use that space to bring back Uncle Jeff, Holiday (team option) and Dante on low/min contracts. At the same time, we still have some room to maneuver with the Jock/Williams non-guarenteed contracts that can be used as trade bait.

I doubt Stone is done working his magic this off-season, looking forward to seeing what he might dial up here.

NAW makes the most sense for Houston. Can do a little play making. d&3 SG that can give you 25-30 good minutes if She needs more time to develop

Went to pick up some auction items from Toyota Center earlier today for a gala/golf tournament that we host every October. Had no idea what it would be. They hand me a large envelope with two 8.5x11 signed photos of..........Jalen Green and Dillon Brooks.

Over NAW? Trent is a better shooter, but NAW is better at everything else. And NAW is still good at .385 the last 3 seasons
