Let the real offseason begin. Which Astro gets traded first?

Bjs deserve that. Gotta elevate or bunt

I mean, it was Yamamoto pitching. It's not like it was going to be easy.

They messed the 8th and 9th up too.

They did bunt, which is the reason a GIDP won that game.

Giving up outs to great pitchers who can induce groundballs is stupid.

Runner on 3rd with one out. No score. Twice. Damn. That and the 18 inning game and the Bam Bam base running error last night. This one is going to haunt the Jays for a long damn time. Like 2019 Astros level.

Clearest path to the World Series? $1B in salary deferrals.

Yeah
I hated the bunt

I personally hate they even moved him to 3rd and gave up the out.

Bought title.

Blue Jays blew it, but Dodgers bought it.

I'm talking about the bat before that or bottom of the 9

Somewhere in NYC Manfred is jacking it to another blue blood winning

Once they did that and LA moved the defense back I thought they were going to bunt Kirk and try for the squeeze.

it absolutely sucks that Bichette can't run

cost them one run and killed them late

props to the Dodgers that lineup is underperforming but just relentless

I can't believe I wasted a whole ****ing year watching baseball for it to be about nothing but money.

A rigged outcome by the commissioner of the sport. Just awful.

the world series is also a lesson learned for the Astros going forward

i.e. the importance of home runs and double plays

- any player who doesn't hit home runs is a candidate to be moved

- the manager cannot quietly accept one GiDP after another

Watching that series and seeing some of the series stats coming in…Toronto may as well have been the Astros out there from the last 3 seasons. It was painfully familiar baseball

Can't win a home game, can't hit for power, double plays, poor base running, half injured players but slap a ton of singles around and have just good enough pitching to give you a shot

The blue jays turned into the 2025 Astros in the final innings of both game 6 and 7.

Hitting with RISP is crucial. That's the reason they aren't champs this morning

The Astros have been the antithesis of the rigged sport for the last decade

With the end of our dynasty, the rigged *** has taken over completely

The Dodgers have 7 players with deferred salary this year to the tune of $1.02 billion. The Mets have 3 players deferred for $100 million, the second highest, yet one tenth of the amount the Dodgers have deferred. The Dodgers on top of that had the highest salaries in MLB this year at $416M. The Mets payroll was second at $341M.

Now, keep telling me they didn't buy a championship.

For other referrals, other teams have nominal deferrals with one or two players under 20m.

Eff those guys. I will never respect this championship.

I have to say I'm struggling to see how yall are mad at the commissioner and think this was rigged.

The blue jays had every opportunity to win this series and refused to. Even after the questionable ball wedged at the fence they had runners on 2nd and 3rd with nobody out and the winning run at the plate.

The blue jays just blew it plain and simple both nights

Yep. If we have to lockout all of next year to get salary caps in place, so be it.

Jays did, in fact, blow it.

And I'm not saying it was rigged, but they were playing against a stacked deck.

Exactly. Multiple things can be true at once. Toronto did blow it. However, the season was rigged for the Dodgers before it even started based on what they are allowed to do by mlb. And I know every other team would be allowed to do it, but the Dodgers are the only team (including the NY teams to an extent) that are capable of doing it.

Correct. Every instance you can point to of the Jay's "blowing it", you can find a pretty similar situation where the dodgers did the same. But when you have a team if 7 MVP's on an MVP salary you can overcome those more often.

I find it hard to believe MLB would recover from another lockout/strike. It took a long time to recover from 94. I don't think a hard salary cap is needed, but they should eliminate deferrals and should have some type of salary floor.

Isn't there supposed to be a strike this coming up year?

The CBA is up at the end of the 26 season.

The question is will the owners impose a lockout early to force a negotiation/settlement.

I think the owners are split 3 ways.

Some like LA, NYM, TOR and others that just spend whatever they want and don't care about CBT implications. And can get players to accept deferrals. They don't want any cap or floor.

Some like PITTS or even TB would not want a floor. They just don't want to spend money.

Then the middle group which I think is the biggest which would like competitive help. They spend up to the CBT level but try to stay under because it takes draft picks. And draft picks are cheap players to mix in with expensive ones. But they can't compete with LA or NYM when it comes to pure spending for the top FA.

I think this will be a massive drawn out fight whether it's a lockout or just the CBA expiring.
