Don't love putting Sam Burns out there right now either though

JJ, BG, and Cam playing as well as anyone on our team right now, they need their shot

Keegan went the conservative route in this session, going to lose crowd support

Spaun should have played this morning. He's been about as consistent as anyone on the US side

Agree. The guys has been lights out. How he isn't kicking off the first round is shocking.

Colin Morikawa being on this team at all made no sense. Short hitter, hasn't played well in 6 months and is a terrible putter (or at least has been this year). He had no business being a captains pick, Keegan should be playing in that slot.

The US team always does this. They pick 1 or 2 guys that haven't played well in months, or over a year, giving them the benefit of the doubt due to winning a match or 2 in past ryder cups. They then put them out there often. Those guys seem to always kill us.

Agreed. I understand the flier picks when there is an obvious statistical reason or characteristic -- like massive length or experience on the course or familiarity with the region -- but Morikawa doesn't have any of those things going for him. His game has really not been sharp this year.

Keegan would have been the best flier pick -- from the NE, has played well lately, is a big time energy and leadership guy.

And a lot of us were saying this leading up to the team selection.
People think I'm an idiot or something, because all I do is cut lawns for a living.

At some point it isn't about the captain and the pairings they choose….the players are simply choking

I understand why he (keegs) didn't pick himself but my god he would've helped this team. Besides Bryson there is nobody with any dog in them to show some emotion and get the fans riled up. This is shaping up to be a boring Ryder Cup. again.

It's boring because the US isn't playing well. If we start making a comeback, you'll see the emotion.

So of course our USA media has spent the week crapping all over him.

Looking at you Benedict Brandel.

If you watched the golf channel leading up to this, the Euro hosts are unapologetically pro-Euro team, while the American hosts try to tip toe and be "unbiased". It's annoying.

What do you know...It's the Ryder Cup and the Americans can't make a putt and the Euros drain everything.

Seen this movie before.

I understand that DeChambeau can pump up the crowd.

So does making a damn putt and hitting good approach shots. Somebody in red needs to play like a professional golfer.

To be honest, I had to stop watching the golf channel pre-coverage of this. It was infuriating.

"Ryder cup experience" is an overrated metric. Pick and play the guys who are playing well.

zero clutch gene so far. Amazing that we are the ones playing tight and nervous on our home turf. The europeans looked calm and composed.

Don't even know what to do different.
Been saying from the start we don't have the dudes for foursomes. We got lucky the Morikawa/Harris group got with Fleetwood/McIlroy because that was probably a loss for anyone. Morikawa honestly hitting it fine, wouldn't mind seeing him again in the next foursomes session with someone different.

Big disappointment in the Scottie group. Crazy stat earlier that he's only won something like 3 holes in foursomes and lost 18 (and that number has grown today).

In general I think US golfers are robotic money making machines, while the Euros genuinely enjoy playing together.

Yep. Scottie is already one of the greatest golfers ever but his Ryder Cup record is stunningly bad.

There may be something to that, but I think it's more of us feeling the pressure because we are supposed to win. Europe, just like the last Ryder Cup, is playing like the underdog with zero pressure.

If anything, the country club mentality has hurt the US in Ryder Cups. Too much picking guys with "Ryder Cup experience." Pick and play the guys who are hot. Golf is such a streaky sport. If guys are on a heater, play them.

Hatton steps up with an attitude of "I can't wait to make this putt"

While the Americans say "oh ****, it's my turn, I can't leave it outside of 3 feet"

You have to be paired with a good partner … Henley on this course was a mistake.

Our media hammers them and makes them the bad guy if they do anything but act like a robot "profesional".

While the Euros are in the pub drinking with the boys, staying out late, and talking **** on the way to ripping our throats out.

Perfect example is Keegan not playing because "it's the right thing to do" and or media will hammer him every chance they get for anything that wasn't perfect if he had played.

He's exactly what this team needed. AND he earned it.

Which is why it's stupid that the US starts counting Ryder Cup points 2 seasons out. We've seen plenty of guys have a great season and then flop the next, getting onto the team due to points from the good season.

Scottie should punch Henley in the throat at this point
