No thanks on Keegan. Several of his decisions were perplexing to say the least.

That makes sense philosophically but realistically, I doubt it would work. You'd have to convince a guy to go through all the grind of preparing and travel to wherever it is to then just sit in a hotel room waiting to see if someone gets hurt (when it only happens about once every few decades). It would be real hard to convince the best in the world at golf to sign up for that.

The only reason we were in it is our guys pinned their ears back and started shooting at pins because they had no other choice. Doesn't take Vince Lombardi for that.
When real decisions had to be made, he appears to have botched most, if not all, of them. Including some truly inexplicable ones. He's one and done for me.

Putting Morikawa and English out there twice in Foursomes was the worst decision by Bradley considering analytics with that. That basically was the difference in the final 15-13 score

There's a good crop of young talent for the US up and coming. Some of these guys like Morikawa and English need to get left behind in two years.

Keegan lost the cup for us. How well we did today just shows how awful his decisions were. We lost one singles match and somehow lost the cup. So it's not a talent problem. It's a pairings problem. Putting morikawa and English out once is inexplicable. Twice made me think we should remove him as captain on the spot.
He completely ignored analytics, in both pairings and course setup. That's inexcusable and rules you out for any future captaincies.
In fairness to English, he qualified for this.
However given the awful performance in Friday foursomes by English and Morikawa along with clear analytics that those 2 paired together was basically the worst combination that should have clearly told Bradley to not put them out there again on Saturday morning. But Bradley did anyway and he shouldn't be a Ryder Cup captain anymore.

Like who? I don't see much young firepower that can be counted on. You could see guys like Rahm, Hovland, and Aberg coming on a year or two before they made huge impacts. Who are those guys for us?

Yeah, I would really like him to answer this specifically. Things like this matter for future decisions. You can't simply say "I believed in my guys". That's not a legit reason or answer
Would love to see the young guns like Luke Clanton, Jackson Koivun etc get ready for Hazeltine in 2029. Need some fresh blood in there.
It's not that complicated. But our captains never seem to get it.
Here are the simple guidelines.
Everybody plays all three days. You keep everybody sharp. It's not like the guys sitting are 20 handicaps.
You don't set your schedule for all five rounds before the tournament. Nobody will ever convince that Bradley ever deviated from his "best case scenario plan".
If you find a guy with hot hand, you play him an extra round. Just don't burn him out. If you find a guy that isn't sharp, let him sit for extra round.
If a pairing works, stick with it. If a pairing stinks, change it. Bradley violated both of these rules.
Captain needs to HAMMER the strategy into their heads. Or pick guys who play with right mentality. We always have a team that think they're trying to par out and get a back-door Top 10 finish. You have to WIN the hole. You can't win the point by hoping the other guy implodes. They're trying to protect their score. A bogey is the same thing at quad.

It's a mixed bag right now for Team USA. We have about 6 or so core and experienced golfers mostly likely back in 2 years such as Scottie, Xander, Cantlay, Bryson, JT and maybe Young. The other 6 are up in the air. There are a few other younger guys that could step into the picture such as Jackson Kouvin, Jake Knapp, Theegala, Bhatia, Gotterup, etc. Then there are a couple of former Ryder cuppers like Spieth or Koepka or Reed that could re enter the picture by 2027 in Ireland.
That was another poor decision by Bradley

Who is going to be the next Team USA captain for 2027? There is no clear choice nor do we really have a good succession plan in place for the next 3-4 Ryder Cups.
