Yes if the call upheld then batters are out and runners return to the original bases. Which is why on the overturn the batter is not out and must be placed on a base.

This is the reason most dead ball situations can't be challenged. However the ball hitting a runner or the batter after they become a runner in fair territory is interference. Interference is one of the 9 things that can be challenged.

Changing that batter-runner touching a ball in fair territory to a delayed dead ball fixes this. They did that with bat ball contact out of the box a few years ago this is a step later but the same should apply. If its a delayed dead ball then Florida could have chosen the interference if upheld or the out with the runners advancing if overturned

I accidentally put the following in the Georgia thread earlier. Adding here now:

"The Aggie Diamond Hour continues Wednesday, April 9 from 7-8 p.m. at Rudy's". Baseball first and then softball.

Did it really rain for 48 hours straight? Are you telling me there wasn't a window where they couldn't have gotten this game in either Sunday or today?

Or did they put all their eggs in the basket of playing tonight at 5 PM central and couldn't adapt?

Definitely unfair if we don't get to makeup the Georgia game in the event we could win the conference at the end. Otherwise it's not relevant, but now we're a half-game behind OU and 1 game behind Sips for the lead.

What's crazy is the sips not on the schedule. SEC must have told them they would have to play here and they vetoed.

Texas plays at OU and Florida. The better veto would be to not play OU and Texas in the regular season.

D1 Softball

Aggies move up to #3, ahead of FSU at #4. Recall that this is the poll that moved FSU up 9 spots, just ahead of the Aggies, in week 7.

Florida falls from #2 to #9. sips and sooners at #1 and #2.

Hush, now!!! Everyone is out to get us is the official position of the TexAgs mob. No fair pointing out things that work in our favor.

It's been interesting to see Florida's offense hit a wall in the last few weeks.

I think they'll rally and be back in time for postseason, but I wonder how much they'll fall in seeding in the meantime.

Nothing to do with the mob. I'm pointing out the obvious. There's zero reason not to be playing Texas every year in every sport in the regular season now. It's the ONLY sport this year not to do it and I stated the likely reason why.

The only two sports that played at A&M and not Texas were football which it is we'll know we requested the first year at home to not abstain from voting them in the conference. And women's basketball where we suck and they are good.

Soccer, women's tennis, baseball all played there.

It does not bother me, I'm used to them doing things such as this. Sorry it bothers you that I point it out bc others were stating losing the Georgia game might cause us to not win the conference championship and playing the sips at home could have made the difference.

The SEC softball schedule isn't set up that way. Schedules rotate around, I don't think anyone has a 'permanent' opponent. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I think I heard Trisha says we get them both in the regular season next year.

This weekend is HUGE. Winning the series all but locks us in a top 8 national seed. If LSU takes the series I think we still could be a top 8 seed but the resume would take a hit dropping 2 home series which could come into play if fall back near the cut line

LSU has 4 top 10 series left to play this season. Thats crazy

@ A&M
@ texas
Florida
@Arkansas

We're sitting at #1 in the softball RPI right now. If we win 3 of the 4 remaining series I think we'll finish at #1 based on SOS.

I'm almost 100% positive we wouldn't get the #1 overall seed unless we do some spectacular things like sweeping LSU or Arkansas in addition to winning the remaining series AND sip & OU having some unexpected losses somewhere.

That said, we're in an excellent position right now for a Top 4 seed. Hopefully we can keep focus in the back stretch because this is going to be an extremely difficult close.

What a great way to come out of a slump - good for her !!!

Really proud of KK and how she battled when she wasn't hitting well. She certainly is deserving of the recognition by the SEC.

Let's go Aggies, one game, one series at a time!

Volleyball did home and home. Same as men's basketball. And when Texas played at A&M in basketball we were still on winter break.

The ones I mentioned pertained to sports where only one game or event was played.

Men's tennis. Oh another one where the team that went there was ranked lower.

Please by all means keep bringing other ones that just strengthen what took place this year.

Are you guys really trying to state A&M and Texas should not play each other in every sport? LOL

It's pretty obvious what took place.

This place cracks me up at times. No deep thinking involved so you have to detail out every single aspect.

I don't know why that wouldn't be allowed. It's pretty awesome to read about.

I hope it gets realized. I really think it's going to take an SEC championship to make happen though. And that means possibly a 9-3 or better finish over the remaining series. Which means we need at least 1 sweep AND to not lose any series remaining. In addition, Texas and OU are going to have to drop 3 or 4 more games. Good news is they play each other so that will account for some.

It's doable, but pretty unlikely.

I really want to see a series win this weekend. We have played 8 series with them since joining the SEC and won 1 of them (2016). I am ready to see that dominance end

No doubt! I'm really thinking a Top 4 seed is within our grasp right now, so it's fun to think about what it will take to reach a #1 seed.

That is if we don't crap the bed over the next 4 weeks.

Under the previous regime I wouldn't be very confident, but there's something I've noticed recently…

After the first win in Athens Saturday, the cameras followed the team out of the dugout and into the outfield where they gathered around. You saw the team and the facial expressions and the body language. They were all calm, kind of stoic and business like. They expected to win and they did. No big deal. I'm guessing that's Ford and Harger's personalities reflecting onto the team, and it's showing in the standings and in the RPI. This team is just different, and this staff is different. I think it continues this season and we will be hosting a regional and super regional.

Softball bedlam on the deuce tonight. I guess that will get me through since we don't have a midweek.
