Umps cheating in the tu-Clemson game. Upheld a call that was so obviously not the right call.
Someone correct me if I am wrong but I think scholarships are year to year. Coach Ford has mentioned that she has an end of year meeting with each player. Talk abut their goals before the season, did they meet them, their performance during the season, their expectations for the next year, etc. At this time might talk about scholarships. You have earned a full one or, in some cases, a player might be told they cannot offer one for the next year but they are welcome to stay on without one and maybe earn one the next year. It can be considered 'cold' but also gives the coaches a chance to bring in players who can realistically compete for starting spots and maybe even become stars. A tough part of the game.Bcskid91 said:

Decided to do a bit o' research on the scholarship question.
Checked out the NCSA site, among others. Big difference between major and minor sports. I am interested in softball. Softball is considered an 'equivalency sport', with rules different than 'headcount' sports like football. They can be full ride or partial. They can be multi-year or single year. Depends on the school and its funding and the value of the athlete to the program.

Two of the 'key takeaways':
- Full-ride scholarships are rare but offer complete financial coverage -- most student-athletes receive partial scholarships.
- Scholarship offers are typically one-year agreements and may change annually based on performance, budget, and roster needs.

This will all change if the roster limit goes in to effect. A section on it here:

Another site simply says this:
Athletic scholarships are given on a yearly basis. Many athletes and their families make the mistake of believing that athletic scholarships last all four years in college, but it's not true.
That means that they award you financial aid one year at a time.
At the end of each year, scholarships are renewed by the coach and athletic department, provided that you remain eligible throughout the year.
You are allowed to be on athletic scholarships for up to five years in your college career.
Coaches are able to adjust the amount of the scholarship at the end of each year when it expires. That means they can increase, decrease, or get canceled altogether.

If anyone knows of any other sites I am interested in reading them.

16 for 17 so far in the regionals and super regionals.
Since we are out, I'm cheering for Tech and Nebraska to be in the final.
Hmmmm, sounds really familiar for some reason.Ag1188 said:
South Carolina blows a 4-1 lead in the bottom of the 7th, allowing UCLA to force a Game 3 on sunday. Carolina changed pitchers right before this batter.
That's a given !!Boozer92 said:
