Enjoyed watching her of this postseason. She is a very good player and a two way. She's from Arizona, so I wonder if Ford has any ties to her. I think she would be a perfect get as a junior

It work take a really good hitting pitcher to play both ways here unless we hit for the catcher. Mya projects to be DP next year and I don't see a pitcher keeping her on the bench

Time for me to promote Redshirt Freshman Taylor Brown again. Listed as a pitcher. Great stats on the mound and at the plate in HS. Two time Gatorade POY in Missouri. I am really interested in what she can do for the Aggies. Since she signed I wondered if she would get a chance to pitch and play 1B. We will see.

"The state's returning Gatorade Player of the Year, the 5-foot-10 senior right-handed pitcher and first baseman led the Blue Jays to a 38-1-1 record and the 4A state championship this past season. Brown compiled a 24-0 record with a 0.50 ERA and a program-record 263 strikeouts. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch Metro Player of the Year, she also batted .548 with 62 RBI and 16 home runs."

Addison Amaral, ND, A&M has made an offer, played 2B as Freshman, SS as Sophomore

GP 55, BA .365, OBP .463, R 29, H 57, 2B 11, 3B 0, HR 9, RBI 43, HBP 4, BB 27, K 15, SB 5, CS 2

Mia Williams, FL, just entered portal, played 2B

GP 65, BA .335, OBP .430, R 52, H 61, 2B 10, 3B 1, HR 19, RBI 44, HBP 13, BB 18, K 34, SB 8, CS 8

Addison higher BA and OBP, much better eye at the plate (more BB and a lot fewer SO) and better running the bases but not as many HR's (10 fewer).

Similar numbers, I would take either, but lean toward Addison.

I think KK is a lock at SS so opening at 2B. IF bring in a 2B, Amari still at 1B. Where's Ariel? Someone mentioned she has played OF. I think Hailey has a shot out there but perhaps it might be Ariel. Perhaps Ariel grabs the 3B spot from KP? Would be interesting for Ariel and Mia to play in the IF together again. This would all be worked out in the Fall and non-conference next Spring.

Five teams have offered to Addison. Might be the same with Mia. Make offer to Mia, too? Sign both if both accept? Both are starters and want to continue starting. Or if one accepts withdraw the offer from the other? What if neither accepts an offer? I would make an offer to Mia, just in case, and go from there. Heck, Ariel could talk to Mia - "come on over, it's great here"! Coaches always have really tough choices!

Which teams have offered Addison? Mia strikeout numbers are way high tbh.

Thinking back to last Summer and Fall we were talking about us losing a lot of power and runs because we lost some big bats and were wondering how we would do this year. Soooo, I compared some 2024 season stats with 2025 season stats:

2024

Hits - 460
Runs - 371
2B - 76
3B - 10
HR - 68

2025

Hits - 529 (second most in Aggie history)
Runs - 451 (most in Aggie history)
2B - 99 (most in Aggie history)
3B - 10
HR - 65 (#9 in Aggie history)

Pretty darn impressive gains! This Summer and Fall I will be looking at the roster and stats and wonder what next year will look like!

Interesting story on Maya Johnson, the awesome Belmont pitcher. I had already read that she accepted an offer from Pittsburgh out of HS but they declined to let her play because of her having Lupus. After a bunch of schools said no when she tried to transfer one school said yes - Belmont. Wonder what the other schools have been saying the past few years after she did so well at Belmont?

Regardless, she has also done karate and kick-boxing! Brief story from a few weeks ago here ...

That's a big loss. I'm honestly shocked by this one, I felt like since she's so versatile in where she can play she'd get to start next year. Curious to see where she ends up and hope she has great success there!

Stated thoughts about it in another thread. I think she's looking for a starting position because the Ags are due to land a middle infielder in the portal. KP isn't moving from third, you need a spot for Ariel K, she started for Florida in 2024. So if you move KK to SS and AK to 1B, who starts at 2B if the Ags bring in an Addison Amaral type? Don't think Amari was interested in platooning positions and I also think she can likely find a suitor in Cali to be closer to home if nobody in the SEC scoops her up first. Not to say she wasn't an asset or won't be missed. She seems to be held in a high regard in all aspects of a student athlete. Wish her well!

But you would think this would work out for her, especially since she's a senior. We need her leadership. Someone always gets hurt also. I would still think she would start at first base. But what do I know we'll see how it works out. I really like her though. What a bummer.

I am completely shocked and sad, too. She is one of the last I would think would even consider leaving. A definition of an Aggie athlete - smart, hard working, selfless and more. I think she would have been a definite starter next year. WOW!

UCLA had three primary pitchers this year, each very good and with a lot of innings. Kaitlyn Terry entered the portal recently and Addisen Fisher just entered the portal today. Only one of the primary starters left. Kaitlyn will be a Junior and Addisen will be a Sophomore. Both will be great picks up. ON3 shows Texas Tech and OU have made offers to Kaitlyn and there are probably more. Addisen will get similar offers.

8 HRs from 1B is not a big stick. Its a power position and we could use more production from that position. She had a great year average-wise.

With Amari leaving might be looking at a dedicated 1B now. I mentioned Houston's Brooke Wells recently when she entered the portal. From Round Rock. Will be a Sophomore. I know Coach likes to grab players from Texas when they fit a need. But would she grab a Sophomore from the portal? Also a pitcher but just average.
