If Tech hangs on, OU may not make finals.

I hope Tech wins the title and Canady enters the portal again and gets 2 million. This system is trash.

Pulling for UCLA tonight. That puts either Canady or Pickens against Texas. Neither UCLA or OU winning the other side move the needle for A&M. Texas winning would be blow
Think I'd rather Tennessee have to play UCLA, who they'll more likely beat. Tennessee appears to possibly be the best team in this tournament so want Sips facing them since Tennessee is stuck on their side of the bracket. Tech can beat anyone like Tennessee in one game. Not sure about Tech beating Sips twice in a row. I guess Tech could with this pitcher. I just view their bats as worse.

If Tennessee can hit like they did against Florida, they will be really tough to beat.

Tennessee dominated OU til the last inning too, especially their pitcher Pickens. Idk how many hits Tennessee had, but they pounded the ball at the plate way better than OU on pure contact alone, if not a hit disparity.

Yeah, but you are forgetting one thing and that's Sooner luck. Will not be surprised if it's Texas vs OU again.

Texas's defense is going to cost them at some point.

Out hit them 8-5 but hit into 2 DPs and only had 2 doubles and 6 singles.

There's not many "some points" left. tu just finds ways to win, it is what it is.

TT is a $1MM one-trick pony, and it's worked for them all year, so far.
Boozer92
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Since she she also hits at high level I wouldn't call her a 1 trick pony. She is the best players in the game. I agree the rest of the team is mid but just shows how important a great 2 way player is

Tonight's win vs ucla was a team win. Techs team
Ia more than 1 player.

Current offers listed in ON3, unknown if this is all offers or not. Classes would be next year. Four spots open. Five offers. One has already committed to LSU.

P - Taylor Pannell, Senior
P - Sydney Berzon, Senior
P - Peja Goold, Senior

SS - Kylee Edwards, Junior (LSU commit)
SS - Addison Amaral, Junior

SS - Jackie Lis, Senior (my replacement for Kylee Edwards)

I mentioned several things yesterday morning. What do the coaches think about Hailey Golden (OF) and Larisa Perez (IF)? What do they think about our pitching staff after this year? What do they think they have at all positions? Noted that we have only six infielders, four with experience. We have six outfielders, only two with any experience (but not a lot). I should have added that I think a team should have double the number of players needed in IF and OF. In other words, should have 8 IF and 6 OF. SOOOO, 2 short IF and none short OF.

P - three offers for P. To me this says a LOT. Grace has not panned out. She was the same at Ole Miss and I thought was a poor grab back then. Sidne was out most of the year but was good at Washington and shows promise. Taylor Brown was redshirted, was awesome on the mound and at the plate in HS, but is an unknown. Freshmen were average in SEC play. We need better than average. The coaches making offers to 3 P is a huge tell, in my opinion. And they are all seniors next year, another tell. Gives the Freshmen another season to learn how to pitch in the SEC. Gives Sidne a (hopefully) full year. And can see what Taylor can do. Can always grab another one or two in next year's portal.

IF - two offers for IF. Note that we have no IF coming in as Freshmen except C Madison Sauni who also lists 1B and 3B. We have six infielders, only four with experience. How does Larisa Perez do in practice? What about Reagan Jones? Making offers to two 'might' say coaches are iffy about Larisa and Reagan being good enough to start (I think Larisa probably better chance than Reagan) but more likely just means they simply need two more IF and let the four battle it out in practice. Note that the two offers are for Juniors, with two years eligibility - might need them for two years. I do not know where Ariel will go but we can talk about that over the Summer and Fall after the roster is set!

OF - no offers known. Just 'might' mean that the coaches think they are OK here. I think Hailey Golden might get the nod next year, along with Frankie and Kelsey. If not, one of the Freshmen. After that, we have Scout and another Freshman. So, 'maybe' the coaches have confidence in what they have.

C - no offers known. Just 'might' mean that the coaches think they are OK here. Also the pickings are slim other than the probably very expensive C from Ohio State. I think they will give DeeDee most time in the Fall. Non-conference play in the Spring will depend on how she and Freshman Madison Sauni do in the Fall but they will probably both get a lot of playing time. If DeeDee's bat can get anywhere close to what it was in HS she might be the starter. If she cannot hit Madison might be the only choice to start - if SHE can hit! Gosh, I hope one of them can! Both would be awesome.

Reminder - Frankie is a UTL and has played at 2B so that's always a choice if needed. Scout or a Freshman can take her place in OF.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
We have 7 infielders currently I think.

KP
KK
Ariel
Amari
Mya
Larissa
Reagan

Frankie also came as an infielder and could probably be a backup middle infielder
frankie00
How long do you want to ignore this user?
You're right about Mya, good catch! I have her down as a DP (1B) on my roster because she played 1B a lot, to get her bat in the lineup. When I was counting I looked at the "Infield" sections alone and missed the "(1B)" for her - a goof up, certainly!

Pretty good chance Ariel will start somewhere but maybe not at 3B with KP in that spot so was thinking at 2B with Amari at 1B. On the other hand, if we DO sign two experienced IF'ers we will not know the IF starters until next Spring (although the Fall games will give us some indication).

I mentioned Frankie being a UTL and could come in from RF if needed, with Scout or a Freshman replacing her in OF. I saw her listed as both IF and UTL in various publications and have her on my roster as an OF.

I DID forget about Scout. She came in as an IF but was quickly moved to OF.

When the roster is finally set I'll certainly have to change my thinking about who-where a lot based on who we actually sign and watch some film on the new girls. I do not think KP is 100% set at 3B with Ariel coming in but pretty close to it. I will probably waiver on that a lot until next Spring!

Just saw the Aggies made an offer to the Strikeout Queen. So far it lists these schools making an offer:

Bama
Arky
OU
tu
Arizona
Texas A&M

Frankie00- you are welcome.

I just thought it fit with her style of play. and how about that steal of home yesterday.....Glasgo has some big'uns.
frankie00
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Glasgo was pretty darn aggressive at Louisiana but that double steal yesterday was AWESOME. It DID take some big ones to do that !!

BF (Before Ford) Coach Evans was always the third base coach (telly always pointed out the old style batting helmet she wore) so she was probably the one who called the plays. He was a great hitting coach so that was enough. I do not recall her being really aggressive at base running but Ford sure changed that!

bottom of 5th. Pickens and Tenn tied with UCLA . Tenn at bat. who do you like to advance?
Ag1188
How long do you want to ignore this user?
so Tennessee will have to play Sips in a doubleheader tomorrow at 11am if they win today. How bizarre not to at least have Tech play their game after the 1st Sip game tomorrow, so Tennessee wouldn't have to play a 3rd game in less than 24 hours. Instead, Tech will play their own doubleheader tomorrow evening if needed.

The setup really does try to help the teams that win their first 2 games, it seems unless I'm missing something as to why they'd require doubleheaders.
