Maybe so. I think A&M at 1, Tenn/OU at 2/3, tu at at 4

Tenn is likely to be over ranked but came into the weekend at 5 and took the series from number 1. A&M was the only top 5 to go undefeated over the past week. Oregon lost to LMU on Monday so that may have already been accounted for.

Off topic, but I wonder if TF and staff still has az state connections….

Their ace Kenzie Brown is an absolute stud and and has an extra redshirt year. 18 K performance against a decent BYU squad. Absolute gamer with elite rise/change combo too, so fits with the program philosophy/TF wish list. Just putting it into the ether… maybe it'll get to the right person

I honestly don't care where the team gets ranked, I just want them to continue to focus on one game and one series at time. Take care of business and everything will fall into place.

I agree it is fun to talk about a possible #1 ranking and that taking the rest of the season one game and one series at a time is the important thing. Personally, I think being at the top is a lot of pressure and, as mentioned, the only poll that counts is at the end of the season.

Have to add something that has been mentioned several times recently - getting a top 8 national seed. This is well within reach and is very important. No matter where we are ranked when the seedings come out as long as we are a top 8 seed I'm cool with it.

It IS really neato to see the Ags at the top of the SEC standings. I did not see that coming at the beginning of the season! After all, there are the sips, the sooners, Tennessee, Florida and LSU in the mix, along with others who are pretty darn good. Teams that are in super regionals and in OKC a LOT.

The coaching staff and players have done a wonderful job and have progressed very well since Ford and company came on board. I am really impressed with how well they have turned around a program that had been in decline for several years. Stagnating, if you will. And success certainly attracts highly-touted recruits!

I got some NCAA softball email last week that had an article talking about 6 teams that could break their WCWS drought. No A&M. Did have Baylor and Mizzou (causing me to look at the article date and find it was a couple weeks into the season after but after we beat Baylor).

Watched this. It was hilarious because just a few minutes before that, the gump commentator was going through a list of possible SEC champions and didn't mention the Aggies.

Then, she later basically says "oh yeah they're overlooked, but they don't play OU or Texas." But we will have played Florida, LSU, Arky and Tennessee who you just got done slobbering over and claiming they should be #1 in the polls. SMH.

Three WCWS appearances since Bob Brock, last in 2017. Went 0-2 in OKC that year. I remember well the super at TN. Trinity Harrington got a lot of press. Her mom was in the stands. Had some really great players on that team. The next year's team was pretty darn good, too, but after that the slide started.

Ford era

2023 35-21 overall and 12-12 in conference

2024 44-15 overall and 15-9 in conference

2025 so far 37-5 and 11-3 in conference, 10 regular season games to go plus post-season play

Bama just walked off the sooners, 2-1! A solo homer in the bottom of the 8th with no outs. In the top of the 7th the sooners had the bases loaded with 1 out but Bama made two fielder's choice plays at the plate for the 2nd and 3rd out.

Bama also wins the series!

What an exciting game for everyone except for sooner fans !!!

I think LSU will take at least one from the sips.

And the sips play at OK State and then at the sooners after LSU.

Big time trap game. They beat OU earlier and if I counted right 6 wins over ranked opponents. Need to go in with the same mindset we did against LSU but that is a tough. Ford will need to do a good job keeping the team grounded and focused this week

I often call the SEC a minefield. Week to week, no matter the ranking of an opponent, a team can lose a game or two. Or a series.

All of our remaining series will be difficult (MO, AR and TN), with only AR at home. TN took 2 of 3 from the sips and sooners but they lost two at home to ... AR!

Even if the Aggies make it to #1 in one or more of the remaining polls it will be very difficult to stay there. It will certainly help that the sips and sooners face off in a couple of weeks.

I also look back and recall that the Ags had only 4 hits in each of the second and third games. LSU surrendered 12 walks and 3 HBP in the two games. We gave them 8 free passes.

I think the girls will be hitting the batting cages a lot this week!

I think UT will be the toughest series, on the road, possibly a top 5 matchup, and they seem to be gaining more and more momentum as the season goes on. I just wish it was at Davis Diamond! I am hoping the walks were part of our game plan and that the bats will be hot this weekend!

It feels like we are returning to the glory days not seen since Shawn Andaya was the face and arm (and best bat) of the program and Brock was at the helm.
