It's amazing how quickly all these lawsuits can not only get filed, but move through the system.
Meanwhile I have time-sensitive contracts that take months to get through my general counsel's office.

NEW: Reading now. In a 2-1 decision, DC appellate court panel denies Trump adm emergency motion to put on hold Boasberg’s order halting removal of Venezuelan illegals suspected of being members of TdA pic.twitter.com/11GpGY6rFo

Read Julie's sentence a few times. Double negatives, accurate but so needlessly contorted. Again, that is because procedurally most of these cases are a mess. Not sure I could phrase it that much better, though. Sheesh, confusing as hell.will25u said:NEW: Reading now. IMO yes -- and the Admin would likely be better served to simply dump this case, FOR NOW.
— Shipwreckedcrew (@shipwreckedcrew) March 26, 2025
The TRO does not bar deportations through regular Immigration Court channels, and there is a process for expedited removal. Do that with the 5 named plaintiffs.
Then zero out the "class"… https://t.co/ejwKcmxgMG
IMO this is EXACTLY the kind of case -- in this procedural posture -- that Roberts and Barrett will NOT take.

There may be things wrong with it, but it is so preliminary SCOTUS is not going to step in and become a "Court of First Review" to fix stuff that the lower courts will… https://t.co/SZojhwSCLb

4/ Re-looking at Trump's request for a stay, they highlighted how this language in the injunction is too broad and vague. Court of Appeals says not at all because you know why you canceled etc. The injunction, if not stayed on appeal, will be impossible to enforce. pic.twitter.com/UMR4daWaNz
— Margot Cleveland (@ProfMJCleveland) March 26, 2025
6/6 This case, you may recall, is that Rhode Island case that the court stepped back on once pushed on what was and wasn't covered by the injunction. I could see either a) Trump seeking stay at SCOTUS; or b) agencies just making same decision by individual review.

JUST IN: The 9th circuit court of appeals won’t clear the way for the mass firing of probationary employees at six key federal departments, leaving in place a lower court’s order reinstating thousands of terminated workers. pic.twitter.com/6VsasTVo7j

2/2 Full decision. Trump will need to appeal this to Supreme Court. Question is how will Supreme Court handle 6-10 requests for stays where cases involve many similar issues but where little has been litigated but infringement on Executive is huge? https://t.co/GkCd4MpPOm

Attending a protest against the war in Gaza.
No, Mr. President. This is a democracy. You can't exile political dissidents. Not in the United States.
Bernie say jailing political dissidents is wrong again,
Also pretty sure LPRs got conditions attached to it.
Poor girl got out over he skis but them the breaks. You live and learn.

It would make sense to consolidate all the cases against Trump's EO into a single district court, perhaps in the Eastern District of Texas in Marshall. And if any of the cases go beyond the TRO/TI stage, pick a jury and try it in Marshall.

2/ While I believe the better approach would have been for Court of Appeals to say there are rules on how to dismiss a case and asking Court of Appeals to do so isn't it, end result was same because Court of Appeals didn't vacate appellate decisions which was Dellinger's ploy.

This is huge because the problem the Plaintiff -- and many attorneys in other cases on this subject were trying to avoid -- was the Opinion being binding precedent in the DC Circuit.

Yet planes full of TdA members have been left the US for Venezuela this week.
How in the world is that happening????

4/ Judge is now explaining what this case is about: Not about disclosure and not seeking penalties. This is a suit under APA for enforcement of the FRA, namely to force Archivist to ask AG to get records. Here, I see way to reach common ground:

6/ Judge: Will government accept order to preserve chats for that.
— Margot Cleveland (@ProfMJCleveland) March 27, 2025
DOJ: We are working to preserve records we have. We are still in process of seeing what we have. We don't think an order is necessary?
Judge: But then an order isn't prejudicing agency.
Judge: Don't worry this…
