She is so stupid I get secondhand embarrassment for her.

She's really, really dumb.
Theater kid, play acting at real life. She will go down as the dumbest justice in the history of the court.

The proper response to her rulings...

Don't know I fully understand this one.

This case is about removing the TPS for the Venezuelans that Biden flew in. SCOTUS stayed the order saying they can't revoke the TPS. So the case is back at district judge to now go through the merits, correct?

Why is the order bad? Am I missing something?

Just another version of Hilary's "We can't give the money back to the people because they might not spend it the right way." Instead, it is this judge saying "We can't let the people you voted for run the executive branch because they might not run it the right way."

At some point Trump needs to just start blowing these judges off when they act like they run the Executive Branch.

Unfortunately, that is exactly what the dems are hoping for. Paint Trump as a lawless tyrant who is out of control and ignoring the courts and then run congressional elections for the midterm on a national basis claiming a dem congress is the only thing that can rein in Trump. I would recommend egregious and vindictive compliance. Start burying the court with status update filings on every single migrant case and send them a blizzard of permission slips for individual filings, complete with employee files written up with reasons why they are no longer needed. Just inundate the court with so much documentation complying with their unlawful orders that their clerks cry uncle.

Spoiler alert, they're going to do that anyway. Might as well get **** done before the mid-terms because they're going to use that exact tactic regardless. Fortunately it will be on legacy media, which nobody watches, but the Dems somehow haven't figured that out yet.

Well, they've kinda figured it out recently saying they need to find the Joe Rogan for the left. The problem is they HAD Joe Rogan for the left but they drove him away like they did Elon, RFK, Tulsi and others.

Justice Ho does not mince words!

Quote:

One former President tried to shame members of the Supreme Court during a State of the Union address by disparaging a recent ruling. See Barack Obama, Address Before a Joint Session of the Congress on the State of the Union, 1 Pub. Papers of the Presidents (Obama 2010) 75, 81 (Jan. 27, 2010). That same President also suggested that it would be illegitimate for the Supreme Court to declare an act of Congress unconstitutionalwhile a case challenging his signature legislative achievement was pending before the Court. See, e.g., Peter Wallsten and Robert Barnes, Obama's Supreme Court comments stir debate, Wash. Post, Apr. 4, 2012. Another former President was disbarred from practicing law before the Supreme Court. See In re Clinton, 534 U.S. 1016 (2001). See also Editorial, Biden's Student Loan Boast: The Supreme Court 'Didn't Stop Me', Wall St. J., Feb. 23, 2024 ("American Presidents may not like Supreme Court decisions, but most since Andrew Jackson haven't bragged about defying its rulings."). Yet I doubt that any court would deny any of those Presidents the right to express their views in any pending case to which they are a party, before issuing any ruling. Our current President deserves the same respect.

Yeah, he's big mad, it seems.
Quote:

Ho responds to Chief Justice Roberts, who boasts that the role of the Supreme Court is to check the other branches:
Quote:

It is not the role of the judiciary to check the excesses of the other branches, any more than it's our role to check the excesses of any other American citizen. Judges do not roam the countryside looking for opportunities to chastise government officials for their mistakes. Rather, our job is simply to decide those legal disputes over which Congress has given us jurisdiction.
Ho contrasts how Justice Barrett denied shadow docket relief for a religious liberty case, even as she granted shadow docket relief for alleged gang members:
Quote:

Recall the emergency relief sought in Does 1-3 v. Mills, 142 S. Ct. 17 (2021). Members of the Court expressed concern about the "use [of] the emergency docket to force the Court" to "grant . . . extraordinary relief" "on a short fuse without benefit of full briefing." Id. at 18 (Barrett, J., concurring in the denial of application for injunctive relief). The amount of time considered too short in Does 1-3 was nine days. Compared to 42 minutes, however, nine days is a lifetime to decide a motion. So the district court reasonably assumed that the principle invoked in Does 1-3 to justify denying relief to law-abiding citizens concerned about their religious liberties in the COVID-19 era would likewise justify denying relief to illegal alien members of a foreign terrorist organization.
I'm glad the Court has their priorities straight.

He's clearly right. And Roberts and ACB have zero consistency, but are just playing politics from their perches, imho. He's been right about a lot of things infecting our judiciary.

Kudos to this man.

I have no doubt Roberts will be attacking him in short order. We have a crisis of morality and integrity in this nation.

Found this from Ai. That committee needs to hurry up. Is there anyway to pass it with simple majority in senate?

You know the reason. Senate leftists will filibuster anything and everything that hampers their power grabs. The House Repubs can send over all the lovely legislation they want, and dems will make it die. This accomplishes almost nothing except creating some talking points for the next election.

No way any Senate dem, including Fetterman, will allow restraints to be placed on their judges, just like impeachment of the rogue judges will fail. The only corrections that will take place is through appointments (long, slow process), and oversight by the appellate courts, at which Roberts has proven to be a ballless coward.

So when the CBP run by Mayorkis uses all of their funding while refusing to actually enforce laws requiring them to stop illegal immigration from happening, that was fine. But when Trump wants to cut the budget while fulfilling all of the legislatively required tasks, that is not ok? Somebody is going to have to explain to me how that squares with past court rulings...

The Supreme Court, ultimately, is at an impasse here. Trump 2.0 was exceptionally savvy in picking political appointees that effectively neutered the 4th branch of government. And the 4th estate shot its own credibility to hell - especially after running cover for 4 years of the vegetable in chief. Do they let article 3 judges dictate policy at the expense of whatever trust is left in the judiciary or do they acknowledge Trump as the President and preserve the constitutional order?
