Price would need to come way down.

This RB class is so deep. With all the needs we have, I'll be disappointed if we take one before round 3.

I think you are wiped out if you wait until the 3rd. There will be a run on these guys and if you wait, you are likely forced to draft a 4th round graded RB in the 3rd.

If they want a starting RB, either get Jeanty at 1 or get a different stud in the 2nd.

Commanders got Deebo Samuel for a 5th round pick while we gave up a 4th and 7th for Jonathan Mingo.

Can't make this sht up.

Yea let's forget the contract comparisons and injury histories when evaluating trades

Possibly. The only RBs I'd be ok with in the first 2 rounds are Jeanty and Hampton. I think you can get guys like Neal, Sanders, Brooks, Harvey in the mid rounds. All are very capable of being a good nfl RB imo.

Jaden Blue of Texas is a Pollard type guy, but faster, we could get in the 4th I would imagine.

Agree. I've been seeing lots of talk of Jeanty going well before the cowboys.

tu TE might be available late rounds now....this hurts just watching

After the combine not a ton has changed for me regarding what I think the cowboys need and should be drafting. If anything I think it's put a few more guys in play I didn't think could be there for us. If Tet McMillan is available at 12 I'd probably run to the podium, and I think there's a chance he gets to us. I think the top 10 is going to be filled with a ton of d line guys and a few o lineman, plus Hunter and Ward. Another guy I'd run to the podium for is Armand Membou from Missouri. He's a plug and play RG with crazy upside imo.

I also still think the cowboys will heavily consider trading back if there's not a plug and play player there.

Following the money with a high 1st round pick always makes sense. You gotta win with young/cheap players at positions that normally make big time $. WR & OT make the most sense for this team. We aren't taking a QB and we don't have a huge need at DE or CB (and I don't see a difference maker at either position there for us at 12).

Certainly nothing wrong with taking a DT or RB if Graham or Jeanty are there... both should immediately make us a better team and you don't think twice about turning in those names. But both are positions that you can much more easily and/or cheaply fill via free agency or using rounds 2-7.

I'm a Cowboys fan. What is the "free agency" of which you speak?

Cowboys re-sign Osa to a new 4/$80M deal with $58M guaranteed.

Seems about right, still need a run stuffer to put next to him though.

The exact same folks who ***** about not spending money will be along soon to ***** about spending money. You watch.

I'm indifferent TBH, it makes him the 14th highest paid DT in the league which isn't bad but that's a lot of money for essentially a interior pass rush specialist.

Teams are still going to be able to run it right down our throats because Mazi is an absolute bust and we're gonna draft a DB, WR, RB or OL with our first pick

Pretty good deal for both parties. We need a big 1T now.

Unless Mason Graham is there at 12 (which it sounds like he's falling some on draft boards), there's no one available at 12 that is worth taking for us on the d-line, imo. The players worthy of the 12th pick, again imo, are at the positions you suggested, and of those I still think WR or OL make the most sense. If one of the Cowboys top handful of guys in the draft don't' fall to them, I really would prefer them move back like 10 picks.

Calling it now, Jerry is going to complete his transformation into late-stage Al Davis by getting enamored with Golden's 4.29 40 and over-drafting him at 12.

There are draft folks that think golden is the #1 WR in this draft. Even before the 40 time. He's going to be a better pro than he was in college, IMO. He would be an amazing guy to pair w CD.
gigem1223
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Agree. I would not be upset with Golden at 12 at all.

Devante Adams released today. Any idea on what his market value might be? Pairing him with CD and adding a RB in the draft would be nice.

Yeah, I've heard a handful of people talk about him and agree he's their #1 WR. Some of the earlier names like Egbuka and Burdon are still good names, but don't be surprised if Golden gets his name called before them.

I absolutely love Golden but we need to use the first on someone in the trenches.

If the pending moves to free up nearly $70 million in cap space are any indicator, this may be a more aggressive offseason than we are used to.

Golden at 12 would be a mistake, as would moving him up the board because of a fast 40 time.

I think Golden is a stud, but I'm also not drafting him at 12, maybe around 20-30. If I'm spending top 15 draft capital on a WR, they better be an absolute game changer, and while Golden's 4.29 40 and split are great, he's still a 5'11" 190 lb WR. And I never saw 4.29 speed on the field. And tbh I'm probably off of Luther Burden at 12 too.

Edit: Tet McMillan is the guy I would take, and the rumors are that he could make it to 12, but not much after.

I'd take McMillan or Burden at 12. A wrecker at DT or a stout OL. I wouldn't waiver off those few prospects/positions.

This draft will be super interesting for the cowboys because of what we need most (RB, DT and WR/offensive weapon). RB is incredibly deep and with top end talent, but DT and WR thin out pretty quick after the top handful of players. So if we really want a DT and WR, I think we're going to have to take them in first two rounds.
gigem1223
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Broadus brought up an interesting scenario that could happen. Cowboys are at 12, Shadeur is still on the board. Browns call and want the 12 for Garett. Don't think anyone is turning that down right?
gigem1223
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Agree on Burden. I think he's the bust of this WR class.

Draft is actually incredibly deep at DT. Daniel Jeremiah said there are 24 starting DTs in this draft
