And there was the unknown swimming pool that all Bryan residents over 45 years old knew about but no one on this project did.
Which is why I laughed when the mayor said he was unaware.

Coffee shop going in where the bank used to be at Mitchell/Welsh. Unfortunately it appears they're removing the drive-thru window.
That's going to be PJ's Coffee, opening May 23. They're changing the drive-thru. They took out the bank type of drive-thru but it looks like they put in a window (normal size like most fast food places use for a drive-thru window) and not sure what they are doing with the larger part, but you can see two spots (one small window size, the other bigger) that are not brick like the rest of that side
(Edited to get rid of an autocorrect that I hadn't noticed and which made a typo)

I heard that there was a delay caused by whatever the city is planning to do with the boardwalk construction around the lake there.

Oh wow, I figured it had been open a long time under Dr. Stiles, but not that long! I'd been going there since I moved to Texas 24 years ago. So sadgePS3D said:Collectonian said:

It's been open longer than that. Until I did a delivery there once I had no idea there was a vet office back there, it was just one of those crumbling old houses on the former Millers Lane that got converted to commercial or was demolished. Turns out it's been open since 1994.
Yes, I found a blurb in the paper from the early 1990s that mentions converting the building into the vet office use but it's actually mentioned on their website.Collectonian said:Oh wow, I figured it had been open a long time under Dr. Stiles, but not that long! The gas station at College Avenue and Villa Maria is well underway (parking lot paved) but the Movie Bowl Grille seems to be stalled out still (half-finished paint). I don't think they'll make the mid-2025 opening as planned. (I'm looking forward to the gas station. Plans posted by Bryan shows it has a kitchen and eat-in component, so hopefully it will be some decent tacos/fried chicken/hamburgers/sandwiches).
Not between, but there is an open lot behind them that could be large enough for a small strip center.Quote:
