Layne's Chicken Fingers, a mainstay in College Station, Texas, is preparing for a milestone moment: the relocation and complete transformation of its second restaurant in the community. The Wellborn Road location, which opened over 20 years ago, is set to move just across the parking lot, taking over a corner lot and unveiling Layne's newest prototype.
"This is a big moment for us," said CEO Garrett Reed. "That Wellborn location is a major part of our history. It has been feeding College Station for over two decades. But after 22 years, we wanted to give it new life. We knew there was no better way to do this than with a small shift that would boost our visibility and allow us to bring an even better experience to our loyal guests."
The new space will feature Layne's sleek, modern prototype, which was carefully developed to offer guests a great, aesthetically pleasing experience while further streamlining operations and bringing even more efficiency to the process.

Sounds like the Citgo will meet its demise soon.

Are you thinking of the one on Fitch? I don't remember a Taco Casa on wellborn. At least not in my 15 years here.

This is not the era for movie theaters. Most people would rather watch on their 75" televisions at home than to spend money on expensive food and sit in a room with 15 other noisy people. Last time I went, I said never again. The AC wasn't working right. It's just not what's cool in 2025; it's yesteryear. So much has changed for the better. And it's just not worth it anymore.
