People get all horned up about scoring, but the world is full of me-first guys that can score buckets. Bottom line is that the rockets have been great at figuring out which of those guys can learn to have a team-first attitude and which cannot.
When The rockets deem a talent that big not worthy of being patient with, I'm sure it scares away all but rebuilding teams.
I do think Whitmore will be an effective volume scorer for a 30-win wizards team, but I don't think he was ever going to help the Rockets win a championship.
It's too bad that he couldn't be patient and embrace the role he could've had while he developed, and learned how to be a more well-rounded player, but a young dude being sour about not getting the minutes when he has not proven he deserves them is not something a championship-hopeful team needs.
