He better get a very good sports psychologist. On speed dial. They will eat him alive the first time he steps out of line.

With Framber's meltdowns Mets fans will show no quarter.

Joc showing he's fully in control of his mental faculties and understands both finance and his abilities to play baseball. He's gonna make Texas regret that contract so bigly.

So he does cocaine and hookers between innings?

That explains everything.

It's 95 days until Spring Training!

On August 29, 1995, the Astros overcame a 6-0 deficit to shock the Braves 11-9 in 13 inning, ending a horrific 11-game losing streak.

Was 6-0 Braves after three innings. Mike Hampton gave up 6 runs, but only 3 earned in 2-2/3 innings.

Remarkable string of events in this game:
Brian L. Hunter only hit 2 HR this year and 25 in 1,000 career games. One of those was in this game.
Derick May only hit 52 HR in 797 career games. One of those was in this game.
Tony Eusebio only hit 6 HR in 1995 and only 30 HR in 598 career games. One of those was in this game.
Mike Simms only hit 36 HR in 330 games, and only 15 for the Astros. One of those was in this game.
It was the first time in Greg Swindell's career he had finished a game. He had been in the league for 10 years at that point.

Here's how the unlikely comeback began:

Top of the 4th, down 6-0
IDP RBI by Mike Simms, 6-1

Top of the 5th, down 6-1
RBI double by Andy Stankiewicz, 6-2
3-run homer by Derek Bell, 6-5
HR by Mike Simms, 6-6

Top of the 6th, down 7-6
HR by Brian L. Hunter, 7-7

Top of the 8th, tied 7-7
2 run homer by Derrick May, 9-7 Astros

Bottom 9th- Dave Veres blows the save

Top of the 13th
HR by tony Eusebio, 10-9
Suicided squeeze by John Cangelosi, 11-9

Greg Swindell got win in relief.

So is this who are we going to blame when a lineup of mostly mid hitters and declining stars doesn't perform at an all-star level?

I mentioned Gallen and Littell before. I'd like to get both those guys. You get a #2 starter and a #3/#4 type guy.

2015, any idea on who the Astros are looking at? I know you've talked about trades -- but anything with FAs?

Give me King or Woodruff at those prices. Maybe both.

You could easily build a top-tier rotation this offseason without breaking the bank.

Gallen is a bit of a reclamation project. He's probably going to want something like 2/35 M with year 1 being 20 M and year 2 being a player option. I think we've been interested in Littell before, but he doesn't really do it for me.

I highlighted the names that have been mentioned to me as players the Astros would have interest in. Obviously there could be others who just haven't been brought up to me. Kelly, Giolito, Martinez, Littell, JV, Eflin, Montgomery.

The Astros have also had interest in King, Bassitt, and Paddack at one point in the past. Not sure if that's still the case.
