And it's worth pointing out that he wasn't let go or fired. He chose to leave for what I assume is a chance to branch out and run his own staff outside of the shadow of Miller.

I've seen and heard a lot people acting like the FO dropped the ball and it's an indictment on the FO and 'WTF are the Astros doing?' type comments.

Good coaches get hired elsewhere and I don't see this as anyone's fault.

Is Strom still on staff with the pirates?

Strom resigned from the Pirates late in the season, so they could find another assistant pitching coach.

This is correct and was the reasoning I was given for his departure

per wiki - On November 13, 2024, Strom was hired to serve as the assistant pitching coach for the Pittsburgh Pirates.[17] On September 30, 2025, Strom and the Pirates parted ways

It was late so I may not have read it right but I saw a graphic last night that Freeman has 18 career walk-off hits (guess 19 now) that's the most among active players.

That's insane! Dude is nails

Probably the only Dodger I can respect.

Problem is how he got to the dodgers. He wanted to stay in Atl. They gave him a competitive offer. Supposedly, his agent never even took it to him. Only gave him the dodgers offer.
I have a buddy who is a huge Braves fan. He said some guy that covers the Braves shared a story after the fact that Freeman's wife had a clothes and purse business, and she wanted to leave for a better market for than Atlanta. The Braves knew he was gone, but offered him a contract anyway so fans couldn't say they didn't try.

No Springer tonight. Gotta hope that he can tough out a game six if they can get it that far.

Don't think so.

Man this Toronto team is so gutsy. They remind me so much of 2017-2022 Astros teams.

If I'm Schneider, I let Bassitt try to finish this game.

100%. This is the type of approach we used to have. Relentless.

I don't understand not letting Bassitt finish it off. Stop letting Dodgers hitters see your BP.

I love Vlad Jr

That dude is a helluva player. He could always hit but he committed to losing weight and he's a damn good 1Bman. He's just a gamer.

It's pretty damn cool to see him playing in the WS then hanging out on set with those HOFers (and ARod) that he's known since he was a kid.
