CURRENTLY 4 spots open if the coaches want to have a roster of 25. Includes incoming freshmen.

Obviously, the following is simply speculation although we DO need a really good, proven Friday night pitcher. I do not see the non-starters practice day to day so cannot know in any way what the coaches think they have and what they think they need for next year. But it is always fun to think about it. I would really like to know what the coaches think about Hailey Golden (OF) and Larisa Perez (IF). IF they think they are good enough to start answers some questions. AND, what do they think about the pitchers after this season? What about the portal, what are they thinking? No idea. Speculation? Here are mine, other people will have other ideas:

P - at least 1 proven one, another one if another really good one available

C - have three on the roster, one with experience but cannot hit, one with some experience but not hitting, one freshman with promise. If bring in another one might be one year only player, so 0 or 1

IF - have only six on the roster (Frankie is UTL playing OF but can play IF), only four with experience, might be 1 or 2. Note that Ariel was a 3B and Larisa Perez is a natural 3B whilst we have no natural 1B except Taylor the pitcher and Madison Sauni is listed as C/1B/3B. So a 1B OR 2B a good choice if only one. Or Ariel could play 2B and Amari plays 1B. KK is almost a lock at SS. Tough choice!

OF - two with some experience but good chance both will be starters, two with a bit of experience and two freshmen, might be 0 or 1

A proven P and proven IF might be certain. How many of each?

A proven OF and proven C a really good chance.

Coaches have some really hard choices to make !!!!

Recall this also:

Class of 2026 (recruits sign in Nov 2025, NOT yet updated with 2025 season info)

Taylor Hampton, 3B/OF, Gilbert, AZ. Power hitter. Ranked #43 nationally by PG Softball
Aubrey Moore, SS/P, Acworth, GA (OU recruited as a pitcher), ranked #50
Presley "PK" Kilgore, C/3B, Emory, TX. All-State 3A 2023, 2024
Reagan Rohrlich, CF, The Woodlands, TX. Ranked #1 OF in TX by @ExtraInningSB, track star
Milan Torres, CF, Buford, GA. Ranked #3 nationally by PG Softball
Darby Burnett, RHP/1B, Bentonville, AR
Abreya Perry, OF, Valley Center, KS. #2 Extra Elite 100

Thanks for the roster updates and your thoughts on what the coaches might be looking for in the transfer portal. I agree with getting another starting caliber pitcher and I think a veteran/talented/strong bat for the infield and outfield would be helpful. Catcher I was really looking for someone like the Ohio State Catcher that's in the portal, if not run with what you have and give the nod to DeeDee. I just feel more comfortable with her there over Coleman. Obviously I don't know anything about the freshmen, do we have another one or two like KK, Frankie, and company that can step in and nail down a position in the starting lineup. I'm really looking forward to seeing what happens.

The Ohio State catcher looks like a really good choice. The 'Strikeout Queen' has awesome stats but at Belmont. I am VERY anxious to see what she will do in a power conference against really good hitters.

The catcher is probably asking for a lot of money. The 'Strikeout Queen' even more. Probably lots more. I would love to get both of them but do not know if we can afford it. [sad I have to add 'afford it' but that's the way it is.]

Some of the other ones I looked at below. Just me, other people are different. Berzon is a question mark. Last season she was really good but dropped off this year. We hit her really hard in the game she started against us this year. Spearman is probably a better choice for her glove and bat and not her arm although having a two-way player would be great and she might do well as a pitcher in the SEC but it is certainly an unknown. Maybe just average.

P - Maya Johnson, Belmont, Strikeout Queen, to ?
P - Peja Goold, Chattanooga, to ?
P - Sydney Berzon, LSU, to ?
P/OF - Desirae Spearman, New Mexico State, to ?
P - Cece Cellura, San Diego State, to LSU
P - Maddie Johnson, Georgia Southern, to Georgia
P/INF - Maddi Rutan, Eastern Kentucky, to Tenn

C - Jasmyn (Jazzy) Burns, Ohio State, to ?

1B - Makenzie Butt, Boise State, to Tenn

2B - Keirstin Roose, Coastal Carolina, to Georgia
SS/2B - Addison Amaral, Notre Dame, to ?

SS - Addison Foster, Stetson, to Virginia Tech
SS - Jackie Lis, Southern Illinois, to ?

CF - Sophia Knight, Boise State, to Tenn

OF - Melina Wilkison, Indiana, to ?

I think our current lineup has too many slappers. It gets us in a bind sometimes with runners on base. Power slappers are one thing but right now the bottom of our lineup was basically only playing half of the field. The other side of the coin is that all of those players were plus defenders.

Apparently I was watching very well. I assumes she would come back to Texas. I missed that announcement

I will also say Lorenz doesn't seem to fit the profile of the players Ford has taken as a transfer so far unless there is a connection that isn't obvious. But she is a player I expect to see in the SEC or maybe top ACC. So watching but not expecting A&M to be the choice

I was hoping I was given incorrect information. She will do well for them.

On3 shows we have offered Berzon, Taylor Pannell (Mizzou), and Peja Goold (Chattanooga) at P.

Kylee Edwards (Miss St) and Addison Amaral (ND) at INF

Kylee Edwards already committed to LSU right?

I would be surprised if that list comprehensive the way coaches keep the portal so close to the vest

You are correct. Edwards is going to LSU. And I agree that On3 is not good but unfortunately no free sites are.

2026 class looks to be outstanding. I looked them up and stats are incredible!
I am still not over the early exit this season. Tough to watch this wcws.
I thought this was our best shot in a long, long time. Bummed. Can't wait for next year. Thank you for all the info you provide on this thread.

For me, what makes it worse is how that half of the bracket played out. It would have been one of the easiest routes to the championship series that I can remember.

I'm glad to hear about pannell. I was impressed with her when we played. She is towards the top of my list. My wife and I have been talking about her since our series against them

I would go with Goold over Pannell even though Pannell is already in the SEC. And Jackie Lis (Southern Illinois) to replace Kylee Edwards. Berzon might go back to how she was at a new school but still a question mark. I think taking a chance on her is fine.

Says a lot if they have not made any offers for a C or OF. Also offers to 3 P says a lot.

Best pitcher wins.. Hope we are about to buy some Pitchers.

Be interesting to see if Pickens can beat Sips twice in a row (like she's beaten them twice this year), if Tennessee beats the loser of Tech/Ucla.

I wish softball limited pitchers to a pitch count. Watching teams pitch their same pitcher 24/7 drives me nuts.

Loser of 2nd round switches bracket, so that's OU switching.

They normally choke, and this is their worst near-Finals team in my opinion but was OU's worst team in 5 years prolly. And sips do have a pitcher they paid a lot of money for, when pitchers matter most.

Edit: Sips worse near-Finals team. They've been the favorite to win the title most the season, but lost 8 SEC games and got run-ruled by us and needed help escaping Clemson last week.

yeah. Ou would need to win 3 straight games to get there now though…need to beat Oregon once and then twice beat the winner of Tech/UCLA.

Not sure which is harder, Tennessee beating Sips twice consecutively in the Semi's [if Tenn beats loser of Tech/Ucla]…. or OU beating Oregon, then beating the tech/ucla winner twice. That side of the bracket feels awfully weak. Maybe Ucla is best though, because Tech's bats look weak and Oregon is not awesome.

Pulling for UCLA tonight. That puts either Canady or Pickens against Texas. Neither UCLA or OU winning the other side move the needle for A&M. Texas winning would be blow

VERY good point. I want UCLA to beat Tech tonight.

I suspect OU will find a way to win 3 straight.

I think I'd like to see the Bruins take out Tech too, and then Tech turn around and beat UT.
