Aggies grab another SEC co-player of the week:

https://12thman.com/news/2025/4/22/softball-wooley-named-sec-player-of-the-week

Note Mya the only one not co-player of the week but player of the week this year.

The Cajuns lost a lot of great players when their coach went to Texas Tech and took them with him. They also lost their best pitcher to the sooners.

They have one big win this year, over Bama.

But they have a lot of history of beating major teams, including the Ags, so we have to play our A game!

From the press release on the game:

"Texas A&M holds a 7-3 advantage at home, despite trailing the all-time series 14-15. The teams are evenly split in the last 10 matchups, 5-5."

Is one of these commentators the LSU homer that was drooling over their coach the whole game? She's insufferable

I hope Clemson can hold out the lead over Tennessee! 2 more outs to go.

The curse of #1

Hard to believe it ended because the runner on 2nd thought there were 2 outs and got doubled up. What a bonehead play. Vols coach was in shock.

Great to get back to the ballpark today. Felt like a mid week was really needed after not playing over the weekend.

I noticed Peters was not there during intros but I think arrived later. OJo also showed up later on crutches. I wasn't able to catch the games this weekend because of a family medical situation but did something happen to her in Mizzou?

I never saw anything happen to Ojo, but she has been playing sparingly lately. Maybe she has a lingering issue, I sure hope not.

I saw Ojo after the game on crutches too. Man, I hope that is just a boot.

Also, I did see Sidne Peters watching the game from the bullpen wall. Not throwing or anything just watching the game.

Found this article about the golden ticket that Emiley got tonight. Wasn't sure exactly what it meant at the time. Smart marketing by the new league https://www.espn.com/olympics/story/_/id/44663307/athletes-unlimited-softball-league-ausl-college-draft-show-golden-ticket

Even smarter would be to play their games in college towns with top attendance numbers instead of big cities where they are an afterthought of pro offerings. Probably just me being greedy in wanting to go see games in town but they keep trying these pro leagues and they keep failing. UCLA, OU, Texas A&M and Florida would seem to be better suited to draw a crowd than 4 teams with no home traveling the country playing in Chicago, Wichita, Tuscaloosa, Round Rock, Salt Lake City, Lake Charles, Chattanooga, Omaha, and Rosemont.

I hope this version of pro ball makes it but seems unlikely. I will try to catch them in Round Rock when they come.

Next year's version of '26 AU Softball (the top pro league) is scheduled to expand to 6 teams in 6 cities with a typical schedule. I also think AUS has been innovative in their 3 or 4 years in existence.

Vidales. Sam Show, Ocasio, Lorenz, Garcia facing Emiley, Ana Gold from Duke, Otis from UF. You have to think they add the Texas Tech pitcher, Rothrock from UF & more.

It's the best way to get to football & fall camps opening!

Watched USSSA softball game at Dell Diamond in Round Rock years ago when my daughter was young and playing softball. I'm pretty sure they had a larger attendance than could fit in Davis Diamond. Dell Diamond, with a capacity of 11,000+, provides a lot more opportunity for ticket sales than you have with most college softball parks.

I will say they did a pretty good job of marketing the USSSA game to the girls playing softball. They even had a softball day camp.

Oh no, that really stinks

In her press conference this morning, available on the TexAgs softball page, Coach said that Ojo is out for the season and also said this:

"With Sidne Peters, we are progressing well. She is still listed day-to-day, but we are moving our arm around. I feel good about that."

I few days ago in a press conference or interview she said something about Sidne 'doing circles'. Assuming throwing motion.

We can really use her in post-season but if she is not 100% I would rather not. She has two seasons left and better not take a chance.

The remaining pitchers and bats will have to step up.

I sure sad to hear that Ojo was out for the rest of the season. I really loved her leadership and athleticism on the field.

With this pro AUSL softball thing, is that just during the summer for Emiley, or is she leaving A&M for this? I looked and all the games are in June/July (its nearly every single day). Hoping its just a summer thing (assuming it is due to schedule).

Emiley is a Senior. Only graduated players are drafted into the league. It is a Summer only league. Another option is Japan's pro league, but I'm not sure when that occurs. There are other pro leagues in the US, but I'm not up to speed on them.

Makes total sense. I thought she was a senior, but then I had googled. I guess that is cached info, if you click on it, it is correct.

We booked an airbnb for June 1-6th, in hopes the girls make it to Oklahoma City. We stole the place (in my opinion). We can cancel with a full refund until May 27th. If it's on your radar, look now. We hope to see ya there!

I was wondering if they'll have the Ags make up the game vs. Georgia to complete SEC Conference play; or do they use completed games in a season for tournament seeding?

We have a family thing on Saturday and can't make it. I have 3 seats I'd like to give to an Aggie family. PM me if you're interested and I can transfer.

Edit: Tix are taken.

No makeup games. Winning percentage determines seeding

Not sure if anyone has seen Aiyana Coleman's stats at Texas state: .423BA, 15 HR, .535OB%

I'm glad to see her succeed! That's POY stats for the sun belt!
frankie00
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Thanks for the news and stats! I brought up their stats page to see what else.

48 RBI's, 27 BB's and only 10 SO's. Leading the team in almost all offensive categories.

Good for her! She did not get a lot of starts for the Aggies, had a low BA and struck out a lot BUT she had some huge clutch hits at times. So from a part time DP and PH'er to star of the team - super awesome !!

An A&M Consol grad, happy to be signed by the Aggies, but the move to TX State was not too far down the road and great to see her get a lot of playing time, probably the reason she left. Same with Keely Williams. Lost her job to Kramer. Has started every game for TX State. BA over .300 and second on the team in RBI's. Groovy!

Thanks for the schedule.

The top 6 teams in the SEC (current ranking) have games against each other in the last two weeks of the season. Very fitting. League probably designed it that way, based on last year's finish order (adding the sips and sooners, of course).

Hold on to your hats, boys and girls, because the next two weekends are going to be exciting !!
