OU plays before us. So they have no clue what we will do.

Hogs are hot so they might just lose anyway.

Pretty sure SEC Rule is if the Championship can not be played the highest seeded team wins the tournament

If that's true, then throw Em and btho tu. Then the one guy that thinks we "avoided" Oklahoma will be convinced we did. (7,438,532 eye rolls).

And the USCe infield learned not to mess with the Softball Gods. Play correctly, keep your mouth shut & grind.

well, that was fun. aftercare commentary and interviews w Koko and Mya was super as well

Thanks for the pics. War Hymn sounded great as well.

read the comments about EK
Maybe a few umpiring calls, maybe she was flat or just maybe my comment about Usce being scrappy and legit ..... didn't mater. bats were hot speed causes errors and Homer's don't hurt.

I agree about USCe bats. I like them a lot. They are a scrappy team. This was a good win. USCe will be a tough out as this coach gets more talent into the program

Fairly solid lead for #1 RPI

Trisha mentioned in her interview she was wanting to get our pitchers some innings this week. Makes me think she will start a Lessentine or Leavitt maybe even Sparks but who knows

I haven't heard her post game yet. I understand what she is saying but I will be surprised. Truth is this tournament doesn't matter for post season. A&M is #2 seed at worst. Smart play may not be to start Lefty on consecutive days. Competitive side of me says they play to win tomorrow and see what happens Saturday

Maya Perez looks so happy when she is playing softball. It's been fantastic watching her success this season.

Coach indicated next weekend would be the earliest she would return. I was hopeful for this weekend but will have to wait. If she can return where she left, this team will get a huge boost at the most important time of the year

Watching Aggie softball tonight and seeing the sheer joy on Maya perez's face and the overall joy she plays the game with I can't help but think back to last year. Watching the super regional against tu with my mom. Seldom used Perez came off the bench to hit a game tying HR. Mom was already struggling by that time. But the joy Aggie softball and baseball brought her during those last few months was priceless.

If we could beat a Sips team's bats with our backup pitchers, that'd be major because they can run up a score quick. Bold to try anyone but Kennedy against them but it's vs OU otherwise. I wouldn't want either team really seeing Kennedy before the World Series anyway, but it's more likely we play Sips before OU, as we & Ou are the likely #1 & #2 seeds in the World Series.

Hearing Trisha talk about seeing who could step up I get the feeling she really is more interested in giving people cushion than in winning the tourney

I would start Lessentine and see how she does. I would not let them see Lefty right now.

I would expect tu to start Kavan. she pitched almost 4 yesterday before being lifted.
and yes, Emily probable starter. forget all the pregame talk, Ford wants to make a statement

I noticed when she hit the hr. She seems like she is having an absolute BLAST. Favorite moment last night was when she realized that was a hr not just a double

I'm here in Georgia for the games and wish more Aggies would have made the trip. Quite a few locals came. Re tu pitching. Ole Miss gave them fits, as they needed several pitchers. Lefty is so tough and never gives up. Go Ags!

It's tough for a lot of Aggies to make a trip that far east during the middle of the week.

I wish they'd move that tournament somewhere permanent and more centrally located in or near a metro area like they do with the baseball tournament. (No, Sooner, not to OKC so you can have another home tournament.)

Agree it needs to be away from Sooners comfort zone. Nice area for the Big XII but fairly common for the SEC.

I do wish the 12th Man would recognize that other sports besides football would like an organized trip. I wonder if they will do something if we make it to the WCWS.

Not empty, but less full than the previous games. It was a late start and lots of people left before our game started. Also neither us nor SC has big group of fans here.

There will be more here tonight. OU has a lot of fans here, and many will stay and watch our game I expect.

As much as I would like Emiley to start tonight I would not be surprised if Lessentine got the start. Gives coach a chance to put her in a bit of a pressure cooker without any real consequences. Same for Kate, Grace and Emily who would all have a chance to get in the game. From the centerfield stage after our game it sounded like tu will start Morgan. She was the most effective of the group in the supers last year. They haven't used her a ton this year so it will be interesting to see if we can make the adjustment and run her out of the circle.

With a win tonight texas would pass Tenn and LSU in the RPI and depending on other games also pass UCLA. who would also pass Tenn and LSU Seem like this is more important to their resume than ours

I was wondering if Coach Ford would treat this like a three game series and start Leavitt or Lessentine and see how they do. Coach has talked alot about the loss in regional last year to tu and using that as motivation.

Personally I play to win.

All-SEC Aggies: Texas A&M represented by five all-conference selections

https://texags.com/s/67220/all-sec-aggies-texas-am-represented-by-five-all-conference-selections

Note this quote from Kay:

"Trisha Ford was not named SEC Coach of the Year after leading the Aggies to a 43-9 regular-season record and a 16-7 finish in the SEC. "

"Oklahoma's Patty Gasso was awarded the honor."

"Ford not receiving even a co-Coach honor is a major snub by the league office."

I agree, it would have been fitting to have both of them win. They do it for players of the week all the time. But the SEC has never been best buddies with the Ags so we are used to it.

I don't mind it. Ford deserved the award, but this will only fuel her this offseason in recruiting. She's going to win a championship here if she keeps the drive she has and it's only growing.
