Rooting for Liberty, but they are about to make a quick exit.

They had a great chance to win game 1.

I'm enjoying liberty getting beat. Ducks have owned them. Both of these teams are under seeded. Liberty should have been a national top 16 seed and Oregon a top 8. Aggies drew a much harder road then ou and tu. Not sure how we would have faired against the Ducks.

Oregon played such a weak schedule I don't think they should have hosted at all. They might be a good team but fewest top 25 wins and most quad 4 losses of any host. 16 was the highest they could go really. We just missed the opportunity to host them at Davis

Unfortunately smoking a team that beat us. We had 4 bad innings at our regional. That did us in.

They didn't smoke them in game 1. But yes, a few bad innings did us in.

Texas up already. Clemson may have missed it's chance to put them away in the 8th last night. 2nd and 3rd and no outs, and they didn't score.

They are burying the team that eliminated us. They have earned their trip to the CWS. It's how you finish.

Sips are get to go and the non-reversal of the obvious runner leaving early is a huge reason why.

Yes. But Clemson should have scored in B8. Huge wasted opportunity.

Completely agree. They may have beat is Davis had we earned that chance. Their ace is as good as anyone in the country but doesn't get talked about. Huge get in the portal for them last year

Liberty getting smoked is an embarrassment for us.

This year was such a bad year for A&M athletics, it's pathetic.

I highly doubt any of our players are embarrassed by what happened tonight in Oregon.

Not scoring there may very likely cause them the series. 2nd straight year Texas may escape a SR scare.

I am perplexed by the fact that we seemingly have the propensity for making average players and teams - relative to our ranking - look like national champions.

In this case, because our ace was way below average. In softball, that's not ideal.

I still think OU wins this all.

But Tech may win a few games.

Be that as it may she did well enough over the course of the season to earn us a historic, first ever number 1 overall seed and have Aggies everywhere thinking national championship,

only to lose to a team that has just been demoralized by the 16 seed.

And to return to my prior statement, after these teams, players, backup players, backup of backup players, have their own historic days agains us, the next time we see them

they all return to form and play like *****

Generally speaking.

"Way below average" but 1 of only 16 college players drafted.

From Dot's perspective, you know you are going to face Kennedy on Saturday and probably game 1 on Sunday. If you have any chance, you are going to have to find a way to hit Kennedy, so it makes sense to sell out of prepping for Kennedy.

Also, in game 3, while Kennedy gave up the lead, it was Grace coming in that gave them an insurmountable lead.

Did you even watch the first game between the Ducks and Liberty. Liberty could have easily won it but the coach made a bad mistake subbing a player and telling the ump the wrong number. If that does not happen, they probably win that game. Win that one and they probably win the series.

Liberty is a solid team. They got some lucky hits in the first game against us. They were prepared for lefty and some of our hitters did not perform to their normal level and yet we only lost by a 1 run game to not advance. Yeah it sucks. Ford is a great coach and we will be in OKC most years going forward.

As predicted...Oregon sweeps Liberty in a good old fashioned game 2 ass whoopin'

Liberty was a good team but we could have beaten them 9 out of 10 times.....we just had that 'aggie' luck and timing.

You're getting too much in the weeds on this - of which you have no argument from me.

And you don't have to defend the team to me either. Just because I initially responded to a poster who used words like embarrassed and pathetic, I have never felt or spoken such about our teams.

That being said, beyond the Liberty series and the specific points you raise, wtf is it with us that we get walloped by a backup quarterback of no significance, or a receiver who comes out of nowhere to run roughshod all over us, or some no good team that Sally Struthers has to raise money for beating us at Kyle, or a pitcher that has never done particularly well throwing lights out, or some team that hasn't won a conference game looking like world beaters against us?

Even during our LSU series I learned that only three times did their pitcher record 12 or more Ks this season. And two were against us.

Despite the ebb and flow of sports and Cinderella stories, like a Liberty, all too often it feels players and teams have a knack for turning in historic performances against us.

That's all I'm saying, and I hope you can see with some humor about it too.

They prepared for Emiley is one of the dumbest talking points I've heard this year. So did every team we played all year - from Florida St to LSU to Arkansas to Florida to Alabama to Tennessee, etc. Is there some weird world where only Liberty prepares or even knows how to prepare for a hard throwing pitcher? I mean, my high school coach 40 years ago knew how to do it.

Our ace has a rough weekend. It happens. And that boils down to either command/control or velocity issues for a pitcher.

I cannot comment on other sports or games bc I don't keep that kind of stuff memorized. I don't have BAS. Not saying you do, I just don't dwell on things like that if they did occur. And I was an Aggie fan after 88/89. Apparently losing to LSU in baseball that year still haunts many.

The Liberty coach had her team prepared to face lefty. She brought in a professional male left handed fast pitch pitcher to get them ready for her.

That being said, we still should have beat them. It's hard to come back in a regional if you don't start 2-0. I think teams that start 2-0 win them 85% of the time. The 6th inning of that first game is the reason. So many close plays all went Liberty's way. The game of inches haunted us that inning. Yet, our girls almost came back. It really sucks bc I do think they are great team and could have made some noise in the WCWS. I'm not sure they could have won it all but I wish they had got there bc that experience would pay dividends next season and further.

Is there some world where SEC teams don't know how to prepare for the hard throwing opponents they face every weekend or don't even know how to? This is just silly.

Not every coach has connections such as that one is my guess. And some coaches probably don't prepare as well as others.

Apparently I have held valuable secrets for decades on how to prepare for a pitcher with more velocity that others on your team. Yet, every decent coach my kids have played for knew the secrets too.

And apparently Liberty forgot to prepare for this weekend at Oregon.
