Not sure why I have never seen that done. Takes out all the risk of a wild pitch or a pitch over the plate

Jazzy Burns, the outstanding catcher from Ohio State, headed to Texas Tech. Will be a Junior.
Kennedy Marceaux, the highly-touted Freshman 3B at Alabama, headed to Louisiana. Had a ton of awards in HS. Will be a Sophomore. A few commented on this, on Patrick Murphy running off yet another great player.

There is a rule against this, it's rule 10.15.
10.15 Intentional Base on Balls-
If the pitcher purposefully throws ball four to a batter, it is scored an intentional base on balls. All pitches must be legally thrown.
Effect- The ball is liv. The batter is awarded first base. If forced, other base runners advance one base without jeopardy of being put out but may advance further at their own risk. If not forced, other base runners may advance at the risk of being put out. Not delivering each pitch legally to the catcher is an illegal pitch.
Exception- Intentionally violating the rule in order to walk the batter without pitching shall not result in a ball being awarded to the batter, but each runner shall advance one base without liability to be put out.

So could you do it 3 times and only throw one ball? How are they going to determine intent? Rolling it is a legal pitch.

I just noticed that Mia Williams, the excellent 2B from Florida mentioned here a few days ago, a Junior to be, has offers from at least LSU and Texas Tech. I wonder who we have made offers to, other than those listed in ON3, and have visits scheduled with the next few weeks? Have five scholarships open now, with Amari leaving.
Jasmyn Burns C from Ohio St committed to Tech. Thats a huge improvement for them.
Tech should have hit her with the first pitch if they just wanted to load the bases.

It feels like the Aggies lose an awful lot off the roster. No judgment, just a question: Is next season a rebuilding year? Thanks for the perspective.
I wouldn't think so. They certainly need a few pieces but with Sidne and Sydney they have good start in the circle.

Texas, Tech and especially OU are all on fire with their recruiting class hauls….too silent on the Aggie landscape right now has me deeply concerned….we need an elite pitcher, portal INF, and in general some gals who can bat .300 plus…..and are great defenders.

As far I have seen Texas has not announced anyone from the portal.
Tech and OU have the biggest payrolls available so not surprised
For A&M Addison Amaral seems to be a more sought after target than Mia Williams. She is still available.
Addisen Fisher to me was the better UCLA prospect but she is from Oregon and I kind of expect her to land there.
Taylor Pannel the closer from Mizzou was an early A&M target and is still on the board
I thought maybe Desirae Spearman would be on our target list as an outfielder but looks like ASU and Texas lead for her.
No indication that a&m has offered Brooke Wells but with Amari leaving that would be a good pickup of Texas kid
Of the players who are now out of play Berzon I think is the only one we were after.
I would like to see a gif appear soon on Ford's social media though. Maybe just because the season ended earlier than expected but this portal class seems slow to commit

Thanks for your post….my bad I mention portal only…intended to mean overall recruiting efforts. tu has 7 recruits/commits, all from the high school ranks…all ranked 4-star. OU has 6 recruits….5 are 5-star, only 1 is a 4-star….Tech cherry picking only players who meet their needs….
I just wish I was hearing more from T. Ford…..we seem incredibly slow out of the blocks…..
If you are bankrolling your NIL with a mega donors pocket book, the deals needed to be signed before the house approval was handed down and then paid before July 1 or they face clearing house scrutiny.
I wouldn't be surprised if there were a few back dated contracts, but Tech is probably near the end of their portal purchases.
My guess is we probably weren't doing a lot of straight up buying softball players with collective money, so maybe less of a rush on the players part to get the deal done already.

Taylor Pannell from Tennessee will be a huge get for someone. We could use her bat but don't really have a spot on the field for her.
