The Bliss is supposed to have like a nice alcohol bar in there. My current place is trying to complete and now instead of wine based margaritas they do have drinks. Last time I had a vodka and Diet Coke (not preferred but I didn't know what mixers they had lol).

A new McDonald's is being built at Wellborn and Deacon, next to Dutch Bros.

There are plans for a new development, called Colony Landing, next to the movie theater in Bryan. Phase one is retail and office space, phase two is additional retail and office plus a hotel, and phase 3 is an apartment complex, which is scheduled for construction in 2026.

Those apartments were supposed to start construction in 2024, then 2025, now 2026. There's an empty Hooter's nearby and lots of empty retail space in the Kroger center. Plus 2 hotels off Austin's Colony Parkway that seldom have a full house. This new development sounds like it is poised to be very successful!

Stella Southern Cafe actually has the Banger Burger on the menu now. It's just called the 1802 Burger. Harvey Washbangers' address was 1802 Texas Ave. S.


I had the burger at Stella the first week they started serving it while it was still called the Banger Burger, and it was delicious. I had the renamed "1802 Burger" today and was disappointed to find it no longer has the same sourdough bun. Honestly, the new bun was so bad I took it off. So, while I was hoping I could go there when I was missing the original, I'll just have to accept that it's gone forever.

Well, that's disappointing. The bun was a major part of what made the Banger Burger.

There's an investment company that bought an apartment complex and are remodeling units, upgrading amenities to top tier, and re-platting the complex as condos to sell. Will allow short term rentals, gonna have a golf simulator, cold plunge, high end gym equipment, upgraded pools and entertainment area (TVs and sound system), pickle ball courts, outdoor turf areas for yard games. Currently known as Gateway Apartments. Sterling apartments for you old folks out there

They've done this in other SEC towns with success

If it goes well, they'll most likely engage another one or two similar projects. They up the ante on upgrades and remodels with each project, so hopefully they blow it out with the first one

If I understand correctly, a bunch of excess inventory, one offs, stuff that didn't sell elsewhere etc. comes in on Thursdays. On Friday everything is $9 or $10. Saturday it's marked down to $8. Then every day it keeps going down until $1. Next week, rinse repeat. Closed Thursdays to restock.
