COLLEGE STATION, Texas, Sept. 9, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Uplift Development Group, a Colorado-based real estate development firm specializing in Class-A self-storage assets, today announced its expansion into the Brazos Valley with a new development in Bryan, Texas. The project, named Uplift Self Storage - Bryan/College Station, is a strategic investment in the bustling community surrounding Texas A&M University and the cities of College Station and Bryan.

Located at 3168 E. 29th St., the new facility broke ground in March of this year and is slated to open in the spring of 2026. The development addresses a growing demand for high-quality storage solutions driven by the area's expanding population of students, faculty, families, and small businesses. As Texas A&M University continues its historic growth, the need for modern, accessible infrastructure has become increasingly vital. This project represents a direct response to that need, offering a secure and convenient resource for a dynamic and expanding community.

Since it is under construction, this has a chance to be the first thing Mayor Gutierrez has announced that has happened. I thought the bowling movie theater would be but that has stalled. Doubt Amazon stalls.

Hoping this means my Prime account is closer to meeting the normal timeliness of prime deliveries, and more importantly removes the need for USPS to delay my delivery the time because of the extra handoff.

Wowzers. Bryan continues to knock it out of the park!

That's what you said about Midtown Park.

How's that working out?

I guess I didn't see what came out of the meeting to discuss what to do with their very large unfinished eyesore, and how they were going to knock that out of the park.

I also haven't heard about their efforts to attract another baseball team to their ballpark, if they aren't going to demolish Travis Field or not.

I know some on here like to "stick it in the face" of those of us that live in the two named city to the south, and there's some really good reasons why. If I were our neighbors to the north, I'd be concerned about water and electricity usage that threatened to negatively impact utility rates for us all. CS is drilling 2 new wells at a cost of $70M. Bryan is drilling one for $16M. Frankly, maybe the CoCS should use the same contractors, and get a group discount.

In a perfect world, we would all be one much larger city, with a louder voice combined. Instead, we have egos and fiefdoms.

All that being said, I'm glad to see that Amazon has finally had it with the USPS in our fair BCS Microplex, and doing something about it.

Not worried about the bowling place lol. Lots of history with naysayers over what Bryan has done. Traditions, Miramont etc. Yet Bryan consistently shines here in this coming and going thread. Amazon's drone service has left CS and Amazon's delivery center opens in Bryan. It's all good.

Summary. The facility should be complete by now. Good local family training hard to get it done. It's on city of Bryan dirt so if they don't finish they will seek someone else to take over.

I would hope it all works out since the Schulman's own Billy's Grille and Bar and are operating the Queen and Palace on behalf of the city.

Movie Bowl site has been demobilized and boarded up. No work has taken place in almost a year. Imagine it'll be a long time before there is any activity on that site.

Yeah it means there should be 2-day delivery for Prime members and more importantly means USPS doesn't need to manhandle and lose packages anymore.

Am I understanding correctly, that Amazon will be delivering their own packages here with their own delivery vehicles, instead of letting the USPS handle the last mile?

Because that.... is awesome.

It may even have the side effect of improving the actual USPS service around here, since they won't have to be dealing with a million AMZ packages anymore!

Anyone know what's being built on Technology Way next to the Fed Ex building? They've cleared a huge section of trees in the last week or so.

I did a quick search on what an "Amazon Delivery Station" is, and it appears to be a place where already-packed orders arrive on a big truck, are offloaded and prepared for transfer to individual delivery trucks. Presumably Amazon branded trucks, but I couldn't definitively determine that.
I would guess that orders packed fulfillment centers around Waco, San Antonio, Houston, Austin, and D/FW (etc.) will get to avoid passing through the dreaded North Houston sorting center for USPS, decreasing delivery times by approximately 1 day.

Probably means next day delivery on a LOT of stuff. Or see today, truck takes it from big distribution center to Bryan overnight, Amazon vehicle brings it tomorrow.

Judging on the tracking info for my Amazon packages, I believe the Amazon packages have already been bypassing the north Houston sorting center with Amazon delivering them directly to Bryan PO.

Sorry if I missed it but do we know what is going in between Lakeway and the Hwy6 Feeder north of FedEx? They are clearing a big lot there.

Some kind of artificial animal stress reduction biotech company called FERA. Reminds me of the situation with ol' Bobby Gutierrez's cows! https://feraah.com

That actually looks like a decent company to higher some real Ags.
